It was the same ref who inexcusably disallowed Gareth Prices match winning try against Halifax last season.

He wasn,t the best but I thought that touch judge and you,ll know which one, was so incompetant AND unfit short sighted and useless was the worst I have seen in sometime.He,ll know who he is just by reading this.

I thought Leigh gave away some poor penalties that led to gatehead points.
Apart from Donlans try, what annoyed me the most was Gatehead holding down in the tackle and turtling through out the whole game, without punishment.

i didnt go but listening on gmr phil kinsella said gateshead were getting the rub of the green on decsions and that they were constantly holding down and that the penalty for obstruction on donlans try was in fact two gatesheaad players running in to each other, i also think we need to improve our disipline because refs are pre judging us as a team that give away penalties and blowing for the slightest reason, we arent however a dirty team most of the penalties are for technical offencesyou could tell by the emotion in rowleys voice what he really thought and i think he choose his words carefully. having said all that i would have been happy with a bonus point before the game, well done lads i getting that against 14 men

Rawley's coaching skills are on a par with the refs refereeing skills.

Probably, over 80 minutes, Gateshead were the better team. However, the ref appeared to make a couple of awful errors. One gave Gateshead 4 points, from a penalty they shouldn't have had. The other deprived Leigh of 4 (or 6) points. Those two 'decisions' cost Leigh a win. Sure, they may not have deserved it - but sometimes that also 'happens in sport' (i.e. the better team loses!) Unfortunately, Mr. Halloran appears to have a habit, in our games, of letting the t-j over-rule him, when the t-j has got it wrong.

You can't coach a player to produce 'Flair' and, that is what was required we do not have any players capable (Watson excluded) of passing and catching at speed!
If we are to be relegated it leaves two team's, full of Aussies, in this division I wonder if their Visa's are in order?

well according to the boots and all show it would appear that visas are not checked as stringently by the rfl in the lower divisions, mmmmm thats interesting is it not.

Our lads gave their all and I,m sure they appreciated the support of our fans.We had no half backs but I know the ones in a Leigh shirt will bust a gut to make sure we will not finish in the bottom two.

That ref should be demoted on that performance ,if it had'nt been such an important game it would have been laughable!What about the high shot on Hilly which was ignored then shortly after he gives them a penalty for a high shot ,unbelievable.As for PR showing his annoyance with the ref ,i'm not surprised the man was inept plus he is'nt the 1st to do so and he most certainly wont be the last.Wonder if anybody saw the ref picking up his brown envolope after the game (alledgedly)

The ref was a disgrace, as for the performance I thought it was outstanding considering we virtually had no half backs left to play. Some correct decisions and the score could have easily have been Gateshead 18 v 30 Leigh.

I didnt expect anything yesterday so the bonus point really was a bonus. Heres to the next 2 home games!

I didn't think the officials had that bad a performance overall BUT ...

I agree (with you, I think) that there were a few instances where Thunder risked giving away a penalty for 'lying on';
however, of greater significance to both players and the game, there were a number of unpunished 'high shots' and 'facials' from Leigh - one only had to witness the number of facial injuries sported by Thunder players afterwards.

The fact that Leigh finished as close as you did to Thunder was IMHO slightly more down to errors (kicking especially) from Thunder

(That's what this game is all about - debate and banter over a few drinks afterwards)

Maybe the errors came from Leigh putting the pressure on ,did you not think of that, but for the ref dissallowing a perfectly good try from Donlan we would have won .

Been saying this all season

As a neutral it was an interesting match to watch. I thought Gateshead were the best side going forward but just ran out of steam for the final 20 minutes. They really cannot defend, as shown by two of your tries simply from having a guy on his own just running at the line from 5 yards out.

You showed far more enthusiasm and determination, and could have won if you had a little flair at half back. Leigh lacked that little bit of inventtion that would have made all the difference. Just my opinion of course.

If we had one half back for any length of time we would of won, but God stole Watto and Tom before the game and Martyn got a bad knock in the 1st half!

Just read in Reporter "Afterwards i tried to speak to the ref in a calm and collected manner,he would not speak to me"

What angered Rowley was being shouldered aside by a steward when he was trying to talk to the ref after the final whistle - its all on the game DVD.
