This seriously might be the way forward for Leigh and Salford.
The new club would have a great stadium and a much better fanbase than either could get separately. Ironical that is now being talked about after the original Sky mergers were rejected.
What would the Salford fans think? I would imagine they would be totally against it.

Its the stadium they want and Swintons is hardly great, even their planned new one (yes another one  ) is only at the thinking and looking for land stage. |

Manchester Reds would be a better name, neither club are in what is now accepted as Lancashire*, although I can see the use of Manchester upsetting Salfordians.
*Lets not get into the usual argument about counties and borders etc here, go and talk to people in *say* Blackburn and ask them what county Leigh is in, 90% will say Greater Manchester and not Lancashire. I'm a Lancastrian and always will be though. |

Personally I'd like to see Leigh Centurions in the LSV playing in SL. Salford and the rest can P@@s off and find their own ground in their own area or come and play in the Co-Operative league!
