Not looking good but although it looks bleak we do have a few games left

Wether we get relegated or not this season should be the kick up the this club needs.

Being a Widnes fan living local to Leigh i would say from what people tell me that Leigh have been on a downward spiral for years now. And it's causes are many, i work with a bloke who wont watch leigh again due to its poor treatment of a local teams with regards to playing cup finals at Hilton park ( Rip off prices ). another used to watch them home and away and just got plain sick and tired of the poor management.

I must point out these are the only two who have given me reasons for not watching leigh. I can hold a conversation with about 6 lads at work about Leigh and general RL, but none of them watch the team and there seems no real attempt to get them back on the wagon.

You are now playing in a good quality Stadium but seem to be making a point of showing how not to take advantage of it. Strong recruitment in the off season coupled with good initial pricing to get the punters on board and there is no reason why you shouldnt be playing in front of crowds almost comparable to Widnes. But instead the club seems to have taken the field of dreams approach ( if you build it, they will come ).

I dont want to see Leigh Relegated, i love the Leigh/ Widnes Rivalry and an away game on my doorstep is always a good thing but im worried for your lot now. take away the Widnes games ( two of our worst performances of the season ) and you would be in serious trouble.

As things stand even with those 6 points you look odds on to join Doncaster in championship one next season. This league is very difficult at the moment and Leigh really do need to kick on and start grinding out results. Anyway that incoherant ramble was my 2 cents. Good luck and i do hope you stay up, i might even convince the lad that watching you men in our widnes tops would not result in us being stabbed

IMHO and I did go today, we played a lot better then the last game, we looked like scoring a few times, however our defence out wide was poor, not Stanton he was excellant except for when he was left marking three players. Missed JT and AJ today with them in at second row, I dont think Haven would have beat us out wide.
BIG BIG mistake going with 3 props on the bench as when Alstead went off after about 20 mins ,Morty got shoved on the wing and Durbin came on at FB, this and the clown, Childs ,also were facters in the defeat.
I was happier with the proformance today. Wish we could have hung on for the point I THINK WE DERSERVED IT

The performance was better but still not good enough. We got drawn the short straw with injuries to both Stanton and Alstead which meant we had Durbin at fullback, McConnell in the centres, Nanyn on the wing and Mort on the other wing. To get beat by the same move 3/4 times is criminal though, we knew the pace of Calvert so why let the centres get on the outside and get the pass to him? We applied some good pressure for about 20 minutes in the second half and we managed to get back into the game but our discipline and a few dodgy decisions in the first half came back to haunt us.

All irrelevant IMO I don`t know you and don`t particular care...... You could well be one of the many people who frequent these boards with multi- aliases.......So Jog On.... I`ll be watching my home town team in whatever comp that they`ll end up, that does n`t mean I`ll be totally happy about that fact but I certainly won`t WHINE my A£se off.....
Ps my GGGF says you`re spouting bollo$$s as well and he did watch them...........

im sorry but how can you use that to prove he hasn't watched this club for years? My dads bin watching the club for 30 years but doesnt know about the site.

We really don't know how to take advantage of a winning position - fantastic try from Watson to pull us level at 22-22 but, after umpteen consecutive sets of six, we didn't have the quality to 'turn the screw'; 'Haven went up the other end and the rest is history.

For a 20 minute spell in the second half, we were superb. Problem is, that has to be maintained over the other hour as well and, to be quite honest, performances don't matter now - it's all about the results.

Get yourselves to 'Fax, get behind the lads (as the Leigh speccies did admirably today) and you never know, we might achieve the impossible.

Well done but rather than whining why don`t you realise that we`ve no god given right to be successful in this tier of RL..... We had a pretty good run from 2001 -2005...... as you say you`ve been watching for many a year you`ll be pretty aware of some lean years previously............ its just history repeating itself... take the good with the bad and move on...

We dont watch through rose tinted specs , we fully understand that things are not good and see that our performances are not of the acceptable quality

BUT the point is it is OUR team good or bad

Whinging and moaning will not help one iota

What is needed is the support of all the fans of the club , just as our neighbours did a couple of years ago in their hour of need

Constant attacks on the players , coaching staff and owners will not improve anything

Questions can be asked when our status as a Championship club has been secured

Till that time I will not overly critizise anybody at the club , once that point has passed , well that is another matter

Leigh being relegated from this division is hardly that - a good deal of fans were predicting this as a genuine possibility at the start of the season - your good self included I think, starbug.

I can't see the fans flocking back because we've got the worst side in over a decade that are finally in the mire many saw coming.

There might be a handful more who turn up because there's a meaningful fixture but that's about it. There'll probably be more who'll stay away.

How much TV money do we stand to lose if we do go down?

Relegation kills the club, but is that a bad thing.
It will allow more new clubs into RL and put an end to our annual disappointments and let downs. East and Miners could fill the void, and Wire arent too far away for the odd game.

plus I reckon we will know within the next 5 games. We can discount the Donny game as all the candidates have still to play them, so will Gateshead and Batley win one more game than us in the run in.
