Town centre would be better placed for people mooching around town (if theres any shops left to mooch around

) or Leigh Market.

A trailer vehicle at the ground on matchdays would surely be a winner (and if they get charged too much rent for that a strategically placed trailer near the ground would suffice

How long before the LSV is just used by Blackburn reserves and Wigan for there "B" grade SL fixtures

Look back and I also predicted our league form this seasn too

Despite ongoing efforts to keep the outlet open, we have been fighting a losing battle, due to the limited footfall within the Leigh Sports Village, allowing for minimal sales and mounting costs required to keep the facility running.

Maybe the gap in between home league fixtures does not help

There are a few fixtures close to 14 days as in one week home the next week away, I suppose that is too much to ask for next season.
I also think the above spread in days between games puts people off from going to the games.

What else could you have there bar a club shop? Don't get why lease is high seems very silly!

But maybe if all those who said 'enjoy a mouch' round there bought something you'd have been ok

It something so simplistic yet the games current "rulers" are incapable or unwilling of formatting a basic home /away formular (or as near as damn it).

I noticed Blackpool Panthers complained recently about the farce that is the fixture format in the local press, last home fixture was 24th May , next home fixture 28th June - however they also had no away fixtures in that time either making it a big mid season gap

This is very sad news. On the occasions I have been in and bought stuff in the shop i thought it was excellent.
I do think they could have had more diverse stock and less Centurions stuff...especially with the college and sport centre around the corner.
You would think a "Sports Village" needs a sports outlet...not just 'Centurion' only shop.

I am beginning to wonder if the good people from W"£$n Council want to create a white elephant which would then be blamed on the good people of Leigh, thus giving them an excuse never to do anything for our town ever again. It would seem they are well on there way to it. Not the expected takeup of the facilities and the ones that are are now leaving.

The LSV has been hit with two things. The first and most obvious is the current recession, companies are holding back from investing in new ventures until the economy settles down. No company is prepared to take up the retail space on the village in the short term. The second would appear to be the unrealistic expectations of the LSV company when it comes to generating income for the site. The stadium itself is trying to hire the space at pricing levels similar to Wembley stadium. This is Leigh for gods sake, an old mining town with below average income levels and above average un-employment levels. The money isn't in the town to justify the prices the LSV company want to achieve. They need to lower their expectations and dare I say lose one or two of the "fat cat" salaries they are paying to executives.

One has to wonder whether they factored a stadium sponsorship deal in to their budgeting as well

Its the beginning of the end for everyone at the LSV unless they drastically slash their charges .

The LSV have got Leigh Centurions and Leigh East by the bollox now they have nowhere else to go unless they cough up the asking price .

Would be interesting to know if the clubs knew before hand that they were going to be taken to the cleaners and have little say in when and where they could play and train .

Did they know the costs and conditions before they were conned into leaving their old grounds and moving into this shiney Shangra La ?

Crilly Park has a slope akin to Mount Pleasant so I suppose we will see lots of 40/20 attempts down the hill. The clubhouse serves decent ale. It's only a few hundred yards from the train station so away fans will find it more accessable. Lots of land down one of the touchlines to build a decent sized terrace. (I'm starting to look forward to it now).

Would cost a fortune to bring up to acceptable standards though.

Still cheaper than what LSV would charge





Anyway we could all chip in and help out......

Any brickies, builders, architects, nail knockers, electricians etc etc, i dont mind doing the networking cabling and IT stuff

what about a new stadium with only one seated stand and three terraced sides being built on that massive open space over the by-pass from Asda.

Friday night games...........yipee!! it just gets better. And only five minutes walk from the Lion pub with it's cask ale. I'm definately sold.
