Then are the clubs being totally unrealistic ?
Last nights gate was a big one for Championship RL and yet would fall way short of some of the projections posted to break even.
I don't think any Championship clubs should be looking at gates that in the short term are incredibly unrealistic to achieve if they need double what they get just to survive.

dont know where you coming from maurice but trev couldnt even be bothered to go and talk to his staff when he was appointed so dont talk about trev communicating cos he does not know how his words were i didnt know i come here to talk to staff

If all you are doing to try to increase them is hope they will come , then quite simply they won't

If you are trying to get somebody to buy a new brand of wine in a supermarket , or maybe a new flavour of pizza , what do you do ?

How many people , mostly kids have never set foot inside the LSV to watch Leigh ?

Why do people go to watch live sport ? , or a concert that they can watch on video or TV for a fraction of the cost ? , why have they had to have a lottery for the tickets for the Olympics ? , when you will get a much better view on the TV for free ?

Please tell more,he states we are 1500 down,he states we get £8 a person yep,so times 1500 by his £8 not mine figure each home game and what does it come to ???????? oh your right I'm £3500 out on his figures perhaps your now annual fans consortium could make up the £3500 on his figures

Our problem is the money we have to pay to the LSV for each match we play there.

We have a chance to grow our fanbase with this team and coach.

Be part of that. The Consortium can negotiate with the LSV and our players can stop worrying about if they will receive their next pay cheque.

Anyone who can afford make your pledge' join LISA or just make sure you attend our home games.

They are unrealistic IMO as no club in this division has ever achieved a 4,000 average without Promotion and relegation.
I'd say that Widnes apart many clubs in our division really struggle to average 1,900 paying fans.
Yes plan for a projection of gates of 2,3 or 4,000 but don't finance for gates that are at the current moment in time and looking at previous averages very hard to achieve.

I agree with the rest of your post, they are all achievable aims, however mixing up aims and aspirations with 'must hit' targets is where you can end up in a mess unless you have a benefactor /backer or investors willing to make up the shortfall.

Just because something hasn't been done before or is hard to achieve , doesn't mean it can't be done , the actual real target is 12,000

It's how you go about achieving it , if all you do is try the same things that have failed in the past , you will fail , so you start with a blank piece of paper with what you want to achieve on it , then figure out a way to do it

What comes to mind is something in one TV show and also a film

I cannot remember which TV show it was but it was the last episode and the characters were discussing their future , " I have heard they are going to build a new type of road called a motorway , well I'm going to open a place where people can stop and go to the toilet and buy food on them " , " if they are on a big road like that , it'll never work ", the film was the Memphis Belle , one of the characters suggested he wanted to open a chain of restaurants all over America where the food would always be the same , " Why would anybody want the same food wherever they go ? "

The bottom line is we have a stadium that will fit 12,000 in it , so as long as there is an empty seat then there is still work to do

Agree totally.
However if financing it from scratch again we need to take a realistic look at what can be achieved in the short , mid and long term.
We need short term goals with mid term aims and a long term plan.

No doubt, but lets not forget not having a sustainable and achievable plan is another way to fail long term.

If you are aiming for 12,000 , I'll settle for failing at 6,000 for a few years until we get the rest

Don't mind the aims and aspirations in fact we should be aiming as high as possible on all fronts, just so long as we arn't budgeting for 12,000 and getting 6,000.

Budgetting for the break even figure is the logical thing to do if you can raise the shortfall , this then puts pressure on achieving the break even , part of the problem is that you also need to have a budget to spend to help you achieve the break even

Which is probably the reason why it usually isn't done , because people don't get involved to spend money marketing a club , they get involved for the ' sexy ' bit of having a team win on the pitch

Well promoting a game would be a start - we where due to play a big game against Fax and where are the advertisements? 1 poster in Avacab window (which dissapeared a few days before the game) and 2 in the Centurion pub windows - you had to be close up to actually read 'em.
Last night I passed Sainsbury's and couldn't help noticing that a family funfair was being held soon at Pennington Park. I have since seen several other posters around town for that event.
On leaving ASDA I noticed that Leigh RUFC were advertising an It's A Knockout contest plus another banner with some other event and DW Sports had a banner advertising their facility. Silcocks & Circus's do it all the time.
Why can't we advertise around town? I have asked this question on here before and get the usual "you can't do that, it's illegal". Surely we are a bigger organisation than Leigh RUFC and they are doing it !!!!!! If we are seriously trying to get bigger crowds then we must start by ramming it down folks neck by advertising EVERYWHERE POSSIBLE.

sad news about your financial problems,hope everything goes well for you guys,i know how you must be feeling right now,but dont worry everything will come good in the end.there will always be a leigh rlfc,your a very proud club with great fans,GOOD LUCK AND I TRULY HOPE THINGS CAN TURN AROUND FOR YOU.
