Just read the Total RL/PR interview & it has to be said that it looks as though either Paul is distancing himself from dealings at the club or he had an almighty bumping of heads with DB.

I wish that someone who truly knows would make it all crystal.

To be honest I didn't hear half of those things that Paul is being quoted as saying by Total RL when I heard him talking to Dave Woods on 5 Live at the end of the Wigan v Catalan game so can only presume Paul did an interview either before the Wigan v Catalans game or at half time.

Yes there seems to be a lot in that report that I don't recollect hearing.

Listening to that it sounds he did an interview pre match with Dave Woods (the one you provided a link to) and then carried it on after the match (the one I and others heard)so clearly happy to chat about why he left despite what he said when he told Total RL he was leaving Leigh.

As I haven't heard a peep about why Rowley quit from the club it seemed very strange for Rowley to say that
“The club has since commented quite a lot further, so I guess this is just a little bit from me, which is inevitable"

So has ANYONE heard the club comment any further about this as I've not seen anything and in fairness considering the bombshell that it must have caused losing the head coach so near to the start of the season the club seem quite reserved?

Having Gareth Walker on hand (the Total RL journalist)as well whilst understandable (as Gareth will no doubt have been covering the match)has also something not all together right about it.

Interesting Audio. By all accounts DB saved the club a few years ago and kept Rowley in a job and allowed him to develop, so jumping ship at such a key time seems pretty irresponsible and not exactly loyal. But maybe more will come out in the wash soon.

I think I'm on beaumonts side here! Think Rowley has thrown he's toys out the pram for some reason! We move on think a new coach could take us to the new level! I'd give up 20 points a week to grind the important wins out and get to super league

Like Atomic, Rowley is starting to sound a bit high-maintenance, "my wife is proud of me" was a highlight. I can't imagine any other coach saying such a thing. Interestingly, DB assembles one of the most high-profile squads ever at Leigh and Rowley quits!

You got to applaud him for saying that, if he doesn't think something lies right then he has done the decent thing. Whether this could be construed as jumping ship is another matter though. its going to be an interesting couple of weeks at Leigh and i wonder if the RFL will investigate Rowley's comments?.
It would be good to see leigh in super league as i do miss the banter between Wigan/Leigh fans........but at what cost?

When did he first start to believe, the belief in that belief? Thing is, has he jeopardised his employment potential now. Who wants a coach that quits when you're given such a good squad to succeed with? With the investment made by DB, Super League is clearly his desired outcome and if he doesn't attain that goal, what is the alternative, he may even decide to pull out his investment. I think it's Super League or back to square one (not bust) this year.

Very strange for Paul to say the club has commented further, the only comments I've heard from either the club or people involved with it have been entirely positive, praising his work and saying they regret his departure. Suggests Paul never intended to keep quiet as he said. Disappointing for him to make these comments, think he needs to decide if he either wants to come clear and say why he left and give the full reason or not and keep quiet. Comments like this do no one any good, they reignite the rumour mill just as it's all started to die down and chip away at the respect Leigh fans have for Paul.

Despite his comments about morals and integrity there's still no new information, I still don't believe Derek or anyone at the club would act completely contrary to everything they've said & done up to now, I don't believe other people involved in the club would allow anyone to drive Rowley away without others leaving in protest, I don't think his dad would still remain involved if it was serious. I don't think Derek would sign players Paul didn't want (& if he did Paul would have left months ago when they were signed not now), nor do I think Derek would say who's playing (despite not having the opportunity to do so until this week after Paul quit). I don't think there's any chance you could get away with doping the determination anti-doping authorities in acting anyone (who doesn't have the money of the Russian Athletics) nor do I think the RFL would approve a signing which takes us over the salary cap which has been increased massively from last year (which we were still under). The idea of some big fall out with the club still doesn't make sense or fit what we know.

Like others have said, all I've heard about him from the club since his departure has been entirely positive and absolutely nowt he could take exception to. Therefore to say that the club has said plenty and it is inevitable he responds is just a lie.

Rowley appears to have an agenda all his own and I am massively disappointed in the bloke.

The questions I have are -

1. Did PR resign due to a row over squad/player/coaching interference .
2. Did PR because of issues with the cap ?
3. Did PR resign because he has manufactured his exit to go to a SL Club ? **

**Given the radio interview comments by PR, the fact that he has claimed their are 'issues' but remained very vague over what those issues are & the fact that he has claimed that the Club have "commented quite a bit further", when in fact they have not & the official Club statement was nothing but positive towrds Paul.

I suppose the last point will only be proven if PR is announced as the new Coach of Hull/Hull KR over the next few weeks.

Good lad is Sam, in my humble opinion.

Rowley hardly lifted any lid on the reasons for him leaving in that interview, seems a pretty pointless one to be honest. Sure sooner or later the truth will out, my theory is he didn't want a certain signing (but DB went over his head) and in early stages of his Leigh career the player in question has been involved in incidents already.

Sure we have all heard various stories out and about relating to the reason he has left, lets move on and hopefully D*ckhead Derek will do the same and keep his gob shut about on field issues and expectations.
