| Everyones blaming the RFL when really its the 2/3rds of the SL clubs who couldnt afford to keep the under 21 's so this is the result of this, its the teams like Leeds and Warrington who were teams that wanted to keep the under21's, are exploting the rules now just because they can.
The silly Championship chairman of the clubs thats have agreed to partner with SL clubs are really just putting a nail in the coffin of what was a good competitive league, which last year had some great closely contested ,matches, now its become a farce and will result in driving the crowds away. If anyone thinks these fans will watch the SL teams instead they are deluded.
Surely the RFL should give step in and sort the mess out and bring in something in salary cap that would allow the SL clubs not to spend all their money on the first team but save some to invest in the futureof our game, ie the young players coming through.

| But I don't think they will John as it will have allsorts of knockons (excuse the pun) for every other visa applicant. After what I said about the RFL and SL conspiricy maybe the SL clubs have tried this in an attempt to get their U20's/23's competition back.

| Oh dear, now they've done it. The RFL has upset Gary Hetherington!!
[iLeeds Rhinos Chief Executive Gary Hetherington has expressed his disappointment at a ruling that means Kylie Leuluai will be unable to play for Hunslet Hawks in the Championship this weekend as part of the game's dual registration process.
Commenting on the ruling, Hetherington said, "This decision is purely down to bureaucracy and red tape and it is so disappointing that Rugby League players are treated differently to other professional sportsmen and how little influence our governing body seem to have compared to other sports."[/i

WELL SAID THE HALIFAX CHAIRMAN:
[iHowever, the ruling was welcomed by Halifax, one of three Championship teams who have refused to enter into partnerships with Super League clubs.
Halifax claim the dual-registration system is turning the lover-division teams into "feeder clubs" and argue the Leuluai case demonstrates "the short-sighted and foolish nature" of the decision to scrap the reserve grade in Super League.
Halifax chairman Michael Steele said: "There can be no justification for the use of the Kingstone Press Championship as a venue for securing the fitness of established Super League players.
"The sooner the Super League clubs and RFL recognise the mistake they have made and rectify it without taking the Championship for granted, the better the prospects for the future of the sport."
The ruling has added fuel to the debate over the relationships between Super League clubs and those from the Championship but in the meantime St Helens' former England winger Ade Gardner will play on a dual registration for Whitehaven at Keighley on Sunday.
Warrington prop Paul Wood, who was a member of the the Wolves' Grand Final team in October, began the season playing for Swinton against Workington last Sunday.[/i

| Why all the fuss, most of these S.L players coming in are out there for a run out and probably will not be as keen as the D.C players.
I am glad Leigh have chosen not to take that route and still believe we will have a good season with the players we have. We are still trying to attract more fans, and a couple of big names on the away team sheet may do this.
Leigh will win on Sunday so just lets see how it pans out,i bet after a few games the teams with these players will be moaning about their commitment to their cause.

| The way the Championship is going we will be lucky to have a league to play in soon, so enjoy watching all the Leigh games you can.
I have followed Leigh for a long time and since the move to the new ground and seen the fan base drop, boycotting games (away) is your choice.
I agree with your statement over visas, but this attempted influx of S.L players into this league is not going to stop us from competing or going bust.

| So are you suggesting we follow the clubs with no ambition. I suggest we stick it out and then be invited to join the existing sl teams leaving the twinned clubs to play in the SL reserve league, being renamed in the process.

| This is not about Leigh anymore. This is about saving the game below SL. Swinton are no longer swinton since they bent the rules of the system to 'sign' 6 players who were 'released' by wire. Funny how they all decided to try their luck at Swinton when there's loads of other clubs to choose from.

Swinton were presumably the only club willing to 'loan' them back to Warrington, in the event of an injury crisis at the HJ.

| As said on this thread and several others, the situation has changed somewhat since the fans forums, nor were the comments widely publicised to anywhere near the extent of the current controversy. Without any sort of reiteration, even if the club feel as though they are repeating themselves, then folk will draw their own conclusions and that certainly isn't going to do us any favours.
