You need to go to Widnes if you want gravy. Vikingman will help you out with that one, he's full of gravy!

| I thought it was a pleasingly good crowd today. 2071 against Hunslet. They brought 71 so that makes 2000 from Leigh. Up quite a bit from the beginning of the season I think. It's a pity the Halifax game is Thursday evening and on TV. I think we would have got 3000+ for this otherwise.

| Seems strange but through various reasons 2 of our 5 season tickets made the game yesterday.
Makes you realise how low the Cats crowd was declared at the other week.
Not a bad crowd all things considered imho but we need to get that to 2500 home fans at worst.

| I know this might sound a little strange , but our difficult start to the season has left a strange feeing from now on , we have ( with the utmost respect ) only one potential crowd drawing match left at home , and that is going to be on TV , yes we regulars who frequent this board will still attend , but I cannot see any of the remaining matches drawing more than the average we currently have
So , when the potential new owners take over they really need to look to try something different to boost at least one match
I would suggest they pick out one match and set a target of 5,000 attending fans as an experiment and go all out to achieve that target
My suggestion would be the York home game , they have in the past brought a large and vocal support to matches against us , we should encourage that with possibly free transport for ALL their total fan base
Couple that with opening up at least half the East stand with free family tickets given out to whatever that capacity is , these tickets to be specific possibly by inviting a couple of local schools , lock stock and barrel , the whole school , every pupil , their parents , the teachers and their spouses
Try to create an environment and atmosphere conducive to getting people to want to return
The only potential pit fall in this plan is knowing Leigh , it would coincide in our worst performance of the year

Yes it probably would , and yes they probably would , but it must be tried , if we ever want to progress beyond where we currently are , playing well but in real terms losing money every time we open the doors

Which happens in nearly all sports clubs in the UK/World, hence the need to fund the shortfall whilst attempting to grow income unless we do win the Euro Millions super roll over.

| Our crowds against last seasons relegated clubs were 1250 and 1850 so 2071 is a big improvement especially as away fans were virtually non existent. People are deffo creeping back.

| I was amazed that we got over 2,000. Our problems have been: -
1. We played all the 'crowd attracting' teams at the beginning of our unbeaten run. By the timer that people have latched on, we are playing all the lower teams. (our next four legue games - home & away - are against the current bottom four)
2. We inevitably get caught for Thursday TV games for some of our 'attractive' games. (i.e. Halifax coming up)
3. The fact that there is 'nothing to play for', other than a vague promise of 'jam tomorrow'. (or in three years to be exact) That's why crowds at ALL Championship clubs are suffering - despite the RFL's insistence that all is well, in the Championship.
Whoever finds the solution to this problem, should bottle & sell it!

So as I suggested , we pick out a game and aim to have all four stands open , and go for a 5,000 genuine attendance

Don't you mean 812 down on last years average?
That's a decent crowd for Leigh that, obviously I don't know how it compares to your recent ones but not bad going at all. Though with every Premiership game being on Sunday may have made sense for all clubs (possible) to play Saturday this week?

| Thought the crowd was good considering football was being played same day,we had 4 missing from our party as they are bolton season ticket holder.
I would have thought the club would have moved the game yesterday to friday night as the catalan game the crowd held up well.
Our problem is we are in this 3 year limbo ticking boxes wow wee,the british public want the drama and excitement of yesterdays football relegation not oh what about this team they have nice shiny seats and sell a load of burgers at halftime nonsense.
No doubt the franchise fairies will tell me its for the best as we get 3 years to grow, yeah right how do we grow when after every successful season you get the players snatched from you as you can't compete as the wonderful salary cap means you can't match terms???.
How about having one up one down each year how hard can that be??????

It was nice to see a few of you from the messageboard.I was in shock as i do not know any of the Widnes users except on the moaning trust site. Got on well with a young leyther lady. Joking aside i am a Widnes fan and they come first of course, and any of you are welcome to come and see Superleague next year.

| Can the LSV not advertise the games a little better. There is very little in the way of advertisment for upcoming games in town.

| Thought 2,071 wasn't s'bad against a mid table small team opposition clashing with the last premiership football game of the season. That was my quandary to go to Bolton and see them play the last game of one of their best season for a few years despite the fact they seem to have not bothered playing for the last month or go and watch Leigh who are playing brilliant rugby, I decided the team playing well deserved my support more. A few people have mentioned Bolton FC, it'd be interesting to see how many Leigh Season ticket holders are also Bolton Season ticket holders and if it may be worth considering changing the fixtures when Bolton get moved to a Sunday game, as that really annoys me, football on a Sunday.

| I think shifting the games to avoid football clashes is a dangerous precedent as there are also plenty of Leigh fans (several of whom post on here) who watch United, City and even Latics which might affect our crowds, so where do you draw the line?
Must add that I'm no longer in the band of being a season ticket holder at both Leigh and BWFC, and the last time I missed a Leigh game because of football was away to Celtic Crusaders in 2007 because of a clash with the Hibs-Kilmarnock CIS Cup Final!
