Ellgren made Leigh's kit for the 1992/93 season which was sponsored by Lifting Gear Hire. This was the season Steve Simms took over as coach and John Pendlebury was captain.
Interestingly the kit had black shorts, a short-lived trend as it turned out.
The away one that year was the same design but in blue.

Just had a scan through Mike Latham's book, Leigh Rugby League Club - A comprehensive Record and there's a photo of Leigh playing Swinton in 1972-73 wearing the white shirt with a vee in a home game against Swinton.
So the feeling that it was Leigh's 'alternative' kit looks to be right.

93/94 season Jason donahue chose the design,the previous season we played in the ellgren kit which had intermitant red and white bands.Sid Rowley and Scott were 18 during this season

I've just been checking though my stuff and Leigh played in this kit in the semi final of the Challenge Cup against Huddersfield at Wigan.

Must have took the maker of that kit an age to put all those dots on

That kit was indeed used by Leigh in 71. As I recall we played in yellow that year in the Lancs cup final against Saints at Swinton.

Also played one cup tie around then in a turquoise shirt.

My pics still aren't on yet and I put them on yesterday!

agree 92/93 was ellgren, i was in academy 1st team lifting gear, we had same kit but mesnes training.
