He's only got the same distance to fall. The difference is he might attract more scrutiny, but he came through the expenses scandal relatively unscathed and handles himself very well , even when he does have a few rough encounters (eg the rub with Chakrabati, being heckled by 30,000 scousers).

I've little respect for politicians at the moment but Burnham comes across as being genuine and honest which is a rare asset at the moment and one which will become increasingly valued over the coming months.
