Definitely a game to focus on the positives rather than the negatives.

The pack was superb and bullied a very experienced opposition for 80 minutes. Hock was excellent and Vea went a long way to atoning for last week.

Our centres look strong, Crooks will be one of our best signings this season and Tonga will prove his class if he can stay fit.

Reynolds and Drinkwater are developing a good understanding.

Micky and Pelissier complement each other brilliantly. We have a threat at hooker for the full 80 minutes now. It was great to see how much it meant to Micky to get the try and the win.

There are some really dull poorly coached sides this year.

Agree with all of that apart from your criticism of the ref. They are much closer to the players than we fans are and although they sometimes make a bad call it evens out over the course of a game.

The correct calls far outweigh the bad ones. Penalty counts/discipline I would imagine comes into game review and should be dealt with there. Any bad calls should be copied and sent to the RFL to improve their side of things.

Frank you are entitled to your opinion, but I don't think we committed so many fouls or wrong doings in the Final 10 minites to get penilised so much.

Agreed. It was our second home game on the trot that the referee performed comendably. All the major calls where called correctly imo both games. The only wrong call was Smith with his no try decision for Leeds Keinhorst, subsequently and rightly over ruled.

I watched Hull v Catalans in an attritional and at times dirty arm wrestle with forearms and elbows fully utilised. What a turn off.
This isn't entertainment or what rugby league fans pay their hard earned cash to see.
We just have to hope the teams that are successful are those who entertain - hopefully Leigh, given time, will be in that group.

Although Ben Thaler was probably right in his interpretation of the offences he saw Leigh commit during the Saints game, but what upset many of us in the North Stand was that he didn't penalise Saints anywhere near as much regarding like for like offences, such as holding down too long in the tackle, or not standing square at the PTB. Thaler seemed to spend too much time listening to what some of the senior Saints players thought, in particular Jon Wilkin. I think that Thaler is one of our best refs but he didn't do well the other night.

Referees can give Penalties whenever they choose, its all about interpretation! McShane's spear on Hock was penalised by Hick and McShane was later suspended for the offence which, aided Warrington not Leigh! The same Ref decides to sin bin a Catalan player against Hull for the same offence! where's the consistency there?
Incidently, for those of you in North Stand, Saints were offside all the match and smothered us and all this was unpunished by Thaler
