I was thinking more in the context of joint ownership of the club rather than community involvement.
I guess this part of the thread is off topic now...I just feel Single ownership of any sports club has its good and bad points...you take your choice i suppose.
I suppose I'm responding to some posts suggesting DB has undue influence on signings and overriding the coach. I have no idea if that is the case with Leigh, but it would be a conclusion some could draw given the sole owner.

No I haven't blown it away, you never had one, and you also beat the worst team in SL at their ground, who at the time did not have any injuries, which contradicts your clearly weighted with sarcasm remark about Rowley being a mastermind, your obvious delight at Rowley's on/off field problems are your concern not mine, I'm just pointing out your clumsy effort to prove your point against him by fabricating false facts regarding my club. Have any players commented on twitter about Paul Rowley's departure ? Best wishes/sad to see you go...etc. Don't think so....Surely if it wasn't something, how can i put it (dodgy/controversial) surely they would have by now. Or has Derek B told them not too say anything ? the mind boggles !

Only Gaz Hock has said anything. Says he will miss Rowls but the team will move on. He is off with flu though so wouldn't have been at the team meeting after he resigned. Hasn't commented since so I think the message would have got to him after he tweeted it.

I'm with you there Paul - I would prefer joint ownership anytime, although I accept we would then have problems getting anything done, if decisions had to pass through a committee of 2-10 people! Like you say, for and against!

I would be surprised if the owner has overridden the coach on any signings. As I've said, they both seem to have been singing from the same hymnsheet, very recently. The owner, just like the rest of we fans, would probably have been enthusiastic to attract some of our recent high profile signings, and I assume the coach (any coach) would have been equally enthusiastic to work with such players.

When you read the club statement,it seems to me that they were hoping that Paul could work thru whatever the problem is,but he feels he cant do both.Paul states it is with a heavy heart he comes to this decision,so that tells me has really hoped he could.I feel the problem is personal to Paul,so we must respect his privacy and when he feels its right to say what it is then we will all know.Jumping to conclusions does nothing to help Paul or the club or DB. I wish Paul all the very best,and thank him for the great entertainment this club has given us.

Due to the actual reason it is unlikely Paul will speak publicly. There is no need for it to come out as the family wants to move on and put it behind them. Let's move on from this and look forward to the future of the club and leave the Rowley family in peace.

Folk can't "hold their water" so to speak....I have been told of the actual reason 4 times now, gossip I know. BUT until I get told otherwise (officially) , I doubt it's just a Rowley/Beaumont fall out.

I've heard the rumours ,I'm sure we ALL have,but I never judge a person on a rumour, or for that matter on life itself, Paul has made his decision,I respect him for this,let's leave it and move on.Roll on Sunday .

Yes, it definitely is time to move on with a new coach with more maturity and continue on the quest for Super League. The owner, existing employees and fans deserve this.

Shocking news, the success we've been having is mostly due to Paul. Obviously a fantastic coach to think when he came in there was no staff and ~6 players and now we've won the Championship two years on the run & are pushing for for Super League. Hopefully we'll find someone who can continue in his style, all the players only seem to have good things to say about him.

Think people speculating about some big fall our are way off the mark. If you listened to Derek rather than rival fans you'd know he's always expressed his support for Rowley, always said he leaves all playing & match day side to Paul as "It's his neck on the block if it goes wrong" he's always said when it comes to signing players he discusses it with Paul, Paul says who he wants & Derek goes and signs them. If there was some argument about signings it'd have come out weeks ago when signings were being made, if there was arguments about selection it wouldn't have happened till the season started next week.

Paul & the club say left for personal reasons and I can't see it being anything else with how suddenly it's come. Hope Paul & his family are OK.

It's a hard one to comment on! I believe the rumour is to be honest! Lots been said already but Paul's dad is on the board if it was a pr/db fallout first thing he would do was come out and do something!! Derek is getting a lot of stick he is outspoken and likes he's say but he always as the best interest of the club at heart! It's hang out of order that Derek gets stick due to Paul's mistakes!

If I had to put money on 1 person on this forum knowing the actual reason Rowley left, then THECherry&Whites would be a long, long way down the list. Ive learnt over the years of posting on here that you should take most things he says with a very large pinch of salt.

I see Rowls is sounding well on Radio 5 Live commentating on Wigan v Catalan tonight.

Rowls was asked about why he left Leigh and without saying the exact reason these are a few quotes which I scribbled (so may not be exact - I'm sure it will be played back or picked up on by the local radio)...
'First up just to say me and my family are all fine as even though I put personal reasons' they are ok (or words to that effect)

Being a God fearing man I think my morals are reasonable, young Mr Rowley has said he thinks his coaching career was coming to an end , let the breath get over it and have a word with yourselves. M

I don't actually think for a minute Tel that Mr Rowley's coaching career is at an end. I do believe his coaching career still needs to progress possibly before his ultimate goal.

I do see PR playing second fiddle to someone in the future in order to reach that goal.And good luck to him in his quest.
