If we can make the place a fun, vibrant, enjoyable experience we could in time replace the sight of those seats with real people

It would be nice to see a lot of those seats filled with cherry and white fans, and if the town pulls together instead of harping on about the past we can make a real difference to the amount of fans that turn up to watch Leyth week in/out.

We NEED to have the skills to overcome the challenge as a collective Maurice, we cannot rely solely on the club to get the fans back, we must as fans ourselves try and do OUR bit to help where and when we can IMO.

The club must set the platform to get behind. The kids tickets are a start, how we build on that worries me - some fans have clubbed together in helping buy a trailer to promote the club and this initiative.
Widnes are talking the next 3 years up, as are Fax, as are Gateshead/Newcastle, as are Fev, we seem a little behind. It is early doors but our complete lack of marketing skills is a worry for me, lets hope I am wrong and with LSV being completed we gather the momentum needed.

Anyone any ideas as to when we last played in CHERRY and white. For the last 20 years or so it has always been a lighter shade of red. When we adopted the name Centurions wasn't there some reference to our red shirts matching the scarlet tunics of the Roman centurions.

I think this needs clarifying as we move into our new era!

Yes the club must set the platform, and like you mention, the ticket idea is a great way of attracting the next generation of fans. I know personally about 5-10 people that I could persuade if I mither hard enough that will come to the game at LSV.Now if everyone knows 5 people that they could persuade to come along, if theres 1500 season ticket holders (and I hope there is a lot more than that) times by 5 = 7500 people.

Working on the same idea that Jamie Oliver has got on his new food programme in Rotherham ,that if he teaches one person to cook a dish , then they in turn teach 4 people to cook the said dish and so on and so on, the amount of people that will then be able to cook that dish is staggering.

Its an idea that maybe the club could do something with ie referrals scheme so if you introduce a said amount of people you get a free season ticket? Just a thought.

Maybe the move over to the LSV is talking up a lot of their time, this and selling sponsorship deals etc

We've had 3 flags via the messageboard - first one is the one with the website address and was c£180 from Barmy Flags for 14x6.

T'other two (GLOW and Leythers are Back) were c£70 each from the sewing shop on Leigh Road (opposite Texaco) and are 15x7, though you have to bear in mind prices will have increased from 3 years ago.

I dont and I shouldnt, but I am a potential customer who is not being attracted by what I see, or dont. As a fan that worries me, as a long standing fan I have seen where we have failed and missed opportunities. I hope we take advantage of the ones currently coming our way, time will give us the answer.

i agree with you but i think we have to give them a little leeway with all the things that are going on. I popped in for some leaflets today and trust me when i say everyone was busy and no one was sat with their feet up.

Then communicate the fact we are in moving mode and all guns will be blazing soon.

one can only hope they are reading this and take note.

A printed banner may be cheaper than a proper flag, and roll up fairly small too.
I've a feeling In2 Signs just off Atherleigh Way do them, and they sponsor the club. I'll have a nosey next time I deliver in there if that helps?

or install a web cam so we can watch their every move
