One thing about being a leigh fan, its never boring. Would i sign him, no, do i rate rowley and his ability to develop and improve players, a massive YES. Will i still support my beloved club, again a massive YES. Do i hope hock proves me and many other doubters wrong, again YES.

Whether we sign him or not, we should be delighted that we have another World-class player who is prepared to join us...wouldn't have happened 2 years ago!

I for one think if true it's a great signing.
Top class player.
If he doesn't sign he will sign for our competition in this league or the middle 8's .

I'm sort of changing my mind about his signing. I feel that once he gets at the club and sees how close the lads are as a team and the culture regarding player welfare, he could really settle down. I'm actually confident that PR and DB will bring the best out of him. If they can do this, and bring Hock back to his best, there'll be no stopping him.

I wonder if there's to be any repercussions from his recent brain fart on Twitter? I presume our club will make it very clear that we do not accept that kind of behaviour from our players on social media.

Hello Leigh fans. I'm new to the site. I'm a saints fan who attends roughly 6 Leigh home games a year and have done for the past 5 years so want the best for the club.
Regards twitter, the guy has form. Are you referring to the time he congratulated Ben Flower on Twitter for knocking Hohaia out in the GF along with the words "he had it coming"?

I hope that Leigh have cast-iron get out clauses. This guy could be our best player but he could equally be a liability.

In reality Gaz can play any where in the pack bar hooker. Hes another top player in a top squad. He wont come with guanranteed starts he will have to earn it and as shown through Paul's reign if you have a shirt its your to lose.

4 weeks ago it looked like we would only have Tommy G and Haggy fit for the 2nd rows due to Sarsys injury, we have moved quickly to add top quality in Dixon and Hock (should he sign). We now have full cover across the starting 13, injuries will happen, loss of form will happen and dare i say it suspensions will kick in.

We now have the best squad since 1982, the best manager/coach and the best directors and owner...... enjoy the journey....

It would be a miracle if he plays for you that soon given he is still under investigation for the Twitter thing which was there in plain black and white. I would expect him to get something along the same lines as Hardaker did. That said as I have posted on the Fax forum, its almost surreal a international class second rower signing for a second tier club and says a lot about leighs ambitions but also speaks volumes about where Hocks career has gone.

I can understand the ambition but can't see it working out well for you during the regular season. He is as likely to upset the squad as he is to add to it. Has been banned as often as he has played but still costs the money. Perhaps the logic is he comes back from a ban in time for the Middle 8 competition against SL opposition. If the contract reflects that then it is a shrewd piece of business from your BOD.

His current ban will be a blessing in disguise, it gives our fantastic player welfare and family values a full six weeks to work with hock b4 he is anywhere near a 1st team shirt. In this 6 weeks Rowls will know if hock has bought into our club culture or not, who knows he may never see him play in 1st team if he shows signs of his past in the 6 weeks. A gamble well worth taking, yes his PAST is very chequered & quite possibly the worst displinary record in RL but he his also better than 95% of RL players in this country when judged on playing ability. It will either be genius or a disaster which one we would never know unless we take a chance on him, fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride

I think it's tough for any player on social media to see people having a go at them and not respond but there are rules in place and I'm sure that whilst he's at our club, the board will be reminding him of his obligation to the club to behave himself on social media.

Life is a one off chance no repeats, if you don't take the gamble now and again you get nowhere.

If he signs I can see Paul playing him in the core where the 'action' is most of the time, that way he must concentrate on his own ability when Gareth has played well he has played in a team with a winning mentality and ethos which is what we have at Leigh at the present time.
Is he worth the gamble? Too right he is who 12 months ago would have said that Leigh would have (if he signs that is) two of the most well known names (albeit sometimes not for the best of reasons) in world Rugby League in their ranks?
This could be the start of something good or something else but unless you take the gamble you will never know.

I'm disappointed we've signed a player who's thrown every chance he's had right back. How many chances are you prepared to give someone before realising they're just taking you for a fool? Hopefully he will turn himself around but I really don't see why he won't just do what he's done all his career, everywhere he's been.

It's tough for Hock, big ego with a small brain mixed with aggression and muscles is always a recipe for disaster.
