Well some interesting points and it surprises me that you watch as many Leigh games as I do. I can't recall chatting to you at one of our reserve team games either. Whatever what do you think of the ones who will make the step up to our first team this coming season ?

This guy is looking very good. I reckon he'll overtake Blythe and won't be far behind challenging to get into the Wire squad.

I feel we need cover in the halves though, even if it is a youngster. Neither of the reserve halves at Warrington or Saints really appeal though.

We do need cover in the halves, but dual contracts aren't the solution to that for the reasons stated on here many times before (different calls at each club etc though I don't believe for a minute it'll take long to learn our set move(s)

Anthony Nicholson & Adam Jones impressed me the most and should make the break through this season

Pownall ? Keep your eye on him he is a prospect and a half.

Pownall and Nicholson both same age. I reckon Nicholson will break through this year and do well, Pownall probably year after, but that's probably more to do with their positions than anything else.

I'd definately be looking at a halfback or hooker as a DR player, if Riddy or Paul get crocked, Duffy can play 7 if needs be.

Don't think we'll be getting Rhys Williams, he's better than Blyth in my opinion.

I do see your point though and it wouldn't be ideal and I think that's why personally we maybe made a mistake letting McConnell go because if Paul or Ridyard get seriously injured then we may struggle... but we've not finished our recruiting, let's see how things look for the start of the season.

I think the idea of promoting Nicco to the first team is to cover 'Jock's' role in the side.

Agreed, I still think we were a half short last year, we had Robbie and Riddy playing half fit for the second half of the season.

It was definitely not a mistake letting Jock go and he is not a halfback. Although his defence and support was ok Jocks passing was rubbish. He would throw the ball all over the place.

we scored plenty tries off his line balls early on though, IMO big mistake as he is one of the best at this level around.

Well although I do not like to disagree with Fred in the second half of the season I can't remember Jock having one good game. But we all have opinions. I would go with youth. Fans want to see FAST exciting rugby and what does it matter we are stuck in this league for the next 4 seasons even if we are the best team in the game.

On a totally unrelated topic. On my way home from last night's poker I got chatting to a bloke who works at the Trafford Centre whilst on the 26 bus. I asked him if he followed RL and replied no but I watch it on Sky.

Of course I remarked on Salfords' stadium being built just opposite from where he worked. He said there are lots of bulldozers there but noone driving them and then asked did I know why.

Plenty work being done when I go past everyday......... if you look at the land now to how it started you will realise how much as been done.
