Alan it's obvious none of us are privy to what players earn either part time or full time,but we can be realistic to earn 20 k a season it's only around 400 pound a week,I can't see many full time players accepting this ,I've been told what some Wigan players are earning and it's a fair few quid more than 20k ,I would think the top earners at Leigh are on more than that too.Whatever the part time players are on I don't know,why has this debate been started though?Maybe it's because of fans speculating why Rangi has t signed yet ,myself I would like to see Rangi play for us next season but I don't think it will happen unless a few of the current contracted players decide to leave.
I do think next year will be a make or break season which worries me I just hope the fans have faith in Derek and support him with their feet through the turnstiles at the LSV Derek has put a big investment into the Club I hope we as Fans can show we appreciate what he is doing .

Ste to average 5000 next season will be a very big achievement by the Club, I hope you are right ,it's not that long ago we were getting gates of 2000 and less for the lower end fixtures,that's why I as hoping we would sign Rangi to boost gates , at the moment I'm not sure we can average 5000 a game , again I hope you are right .

Last year was the year of expectation, and we flopped when it mattered - would imagine that would turn people away rather than expect a 25% increase on top of what we had already achieved.

On top of which people now know that most home games will not be overly competitive.
To stay with last years average will be a good result I'm my eyes - possibly why I am not an ambitious business man

spot on mate and its amazing really. Ive always enjoyed going to Fax playing against them and generally having a good bit of banter with them. Truth is they are just like us a town with rugby league running through their bones who over the last 3 decades have achieved far more than they should of done.

Now those achievements have usually been brought about through their own wealthy businessmen throwing hard coin at it and over the years signing top draw players like Eadie, Brown, Schuster, Bentley, our very own Rolls etc.

Now we have a benefactor willing to do the above they have turned into little green eyed jealous, bitter yorkshire folk who now see it as a daily ambition to try and discredit a club and owner.

He does not get it, you are wasting your time. Ste thinks RL players all earn millions and drive flash cars, I think it should be like that for what they do but the reality is not even close.

again you seem to write what you want to think rather than reality... the average PT Champ wage will be 18-20K, not below the minimum wage!

Ste it is only a couple of years ago the Championship had a 300k Salary Cap. 300k / 25 = £12000 average per player and that is if you were spending full cap which would only be the top few clubs so less than 12k average for the league.

With the Salary Cap going up and some increased funding at the higher placed teams I imagine that has gone up slightly since but not massively. Going off that I would guess the average PT wage is probably now around the 12-14k mark. Bit more than that for Fax/Fev/Dewsbury maybe a bit less at Oldham/Swinton.

The above is guesswork only but the players playing in the Championship now are basically the same players that were playing 2 or 3 years ago. Doubt they get much more now than they did back then for the most part.

So me saying about 50 odd pages back that your average props wage could be about 7K per year could be true then? Given in your infinite wisdom you recognize that some positions/players in the team are going to command higher wages its quite conceivable that for every player earning 30K+ you are going to have some earning less than 10K.
