In future seasons we will see what I mean. Just wait till Watson has gone and you will realise how bad he is. I remember being at Blackpool last year in NRC and he was terrible with young Ryan Powell playing alongside him getting no confidence whatsoever.

Well he took his try superdly today and I'm all for local talent being given the chance!! Hope it did his confidence the world of good! he dropped a couple o balls fair doos but had his best game so far and his kicking was good especially from penalties! Superb yards made! Keep it up!

You have obviously got used to watching average players. Watch any other team in this division and their halves are quicker , smarter and alot better at kicking their teams around the paddock than Watson ever has. He is S**t simples !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mate if other players, directors, coaches and fans think he is so good then why isn't he playing for their team. Simple !! They know he isn't good enough. He has produced next to nothing for Leigh and other than a couple of occasions when he has lost his rag, looks to have no pride in the shirt.
If he plays next weekend and has a great game I will be the first person to hold my hands up and give credit where it is due. Unfortunately I have now become used to watching him slowly distribute the ball and telegraphing passes and executing a kicking game we were coached out of at Under 14's.

Matt, the only Logic I have is that other teams are certainly glad that they invested in more talented half backs.
He doesn't seem to have aided the introduction of our young inexperienced half backs into the first team either.
These lads are earning rave reviews in the reserves and playing with confidence.
Look at Ridyard today who had a good game and played with confidence. When Watson is in the team with him Ridyard doesn't look half as confident . Same thing happened with Hemmingway who eventually had the bottle to take responsibility from Watson and started to show that he too was a decent YOUNG player.

And for the other 95% of the games, who's the one who's been carrying us?

Sorry mate but you have a totally different view on Watsons contribution than I have.
Like I have said but for a couple of times when he has been wound up Watson really has done nothing.
I can't recall a game where he has taken a game by the scruff of its neck and put us on the front foot. Look at the other teams in this league and they all have halves that regularly show this ability.

Under the guidance of Millward, Martin has the potential to be one of the best. His kicking is phenominal, and he has a quick brain. I hope the club keep hold of him.

Agreed. He does show some good touches and, in all fairness to him, this season was meant to be a learning process. Instead he has been thrown in at the deep end and should come out of this better for the experience.
