Best supporters Bar IMO Batley decent food and good beer, shame it isn't repeated at LSV

LSVS needs a relaunch, LSVS needs to understand it relies on a successful Centurions to be a success.
In all my conversations with partners in LSV one underlying trend prevails, LSV do not know how to run a business and how to attract and treat its customers.
Take it away from WMBC control, get rid of the clowns running the show, devise a clear strategy and seek buy in from partners and general public.
I hate the place and it looks like the players do too.

I agree with that its always nothing less than a pleasure to go to Batley

Alan Rowley said in Mondays programme that as it is a members bar they can only allow members in ie st holders or lisa members its the law.

What do the non-Lisa members do at the meetings then - stand outside

Someone should open The Railway up again on Twist Lane.

They'd make a packet on matchdays I reckon. It's only a 5-10 min walk to the ground and it's a nice pub.

It's about time Allan Rowley took a hike and let someone else look after the club instead of driving it into the ground.

When are the board going to stand up for the fans and do something about the way the committee at LSV are running things?

It does go on to say that the reason they cant open it to the public is because of the current licensing laws which dictates it has to be a members bar and they are striving desperately to try and organise something in the way of a public bar and are looking at the possibilities of a Marquee for fans and post match for players, staff and speccies to mix like they did in the good old days.Alans words by the way not mine

I believe they could get around this by charging a nominal entry fee - 10p instead of £2 - people may be more inclined to go in then.

How do other clubs get around this?

I can remember going into the Sports Bar with London fans, without having to pay or be members, at The Valley.

Surely theirs was a very similar situation to LSVs - so what's the difference?

Surely if it's just a membership thing you could have membership forms at the entrance which can be filled in upon entry - there not even any need for a charge?!

Well if they get the marquee idea off and rolling that would be good would'nt it.

If they stick a tent up on the football pitch, sell overpriced bottles of warm lager, and plonk a small advert in Fishermans Weekly then no.

We have to compete with every other summer time activity. Gone are the days when folk went watching Leigh because there's nowt else to do on a Sunday in November and the pubs shut in the afternoon.

If they create a proper family orientated summer-festival type environment with a hog roast/BBQ, activities for the kids like bouncy castle and facepaint, Parky Pig and non-playing players, maybe a couple of rides, side stalls selling bits and bobs of merchandice, perhaps a bit of live music, with £20 family tickets, and some decent priced beers then it might just catch on eventually but it needs to be a regular thing that folk can then welcome into their Sunday routine.

Doing it once, half baked, then moaning because it didnt have 500 people there wont work. Yes, there is the cost element of it all, but there is also the loss element if you dont.

For me, they need to make it a full afternoons summer entertainment for everyone because when we're competing with other summer activities, spending just 80 minutes watching rugby versus a full day/afternoon somewhere else isn't tempting enough sometimes even for the likes of me.

The Watcher had heard about the "special supporters bar" but did not know it was in Legends Bar until he had read his programme that was purchased inside the ground.Very very poor advertising just not good enough.
I also agree with previous posts about a members bar, does the law state a member has to pay to be a member ? I dont think so & even if it does the charge can be 1p.Other clubs in the area charge around £5 a year & you get free drinks at the AGM.

It would all depend on what the on site licence issued by Wigan Council states re alcohol selling and drinking.

I am a partner in a marquee hire company based in leigh im sure we could do a deal with everyone involved if thats want they wanted

Would the stadium company let you put a marquee up inside the stadium or have you another venue in mind?

it would have to be on the sports village somewhere we would talk to the sports village if the got in touch we are all for helping our local community out

First time I had the opportunity for the tinternet all week, and this is the first I've heard of the bar being (free). Being a Lisa/season ticket holder can I get my mate in? This seasons excuse seems to be, it's in the programme, and anyone advertising in the Journal/Reporter is wasting their money as most people do not get one. It appears most of the people running the shows would make very good Bankers.
