Very true that Reffy as Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec and Jan are not pre season cash flow benefits are they
500 paying £120 in December/Jan or hopefully 1000+ paying £20 a month for 6 months - no brainer for gates and cash flow.

| It's just as cheap to watch Wigan at the Top of Super League.
Perhaps Leigh should look at low contracts with winning pay based on profit from attendances, that way the admission should be kept lower not higher and winning regulary will bring more people through the gate.
Otherwise, there's no incentive to go all out for the win every week.

Funnily enough, I've recently been involved in a debate on flexitickets here
www.totalrl.com/index.php?showtopic=207692
There's obviously a demand, given the poll results, but the trick is to make it attractive to both club and punter. I don't know that selling a four match ticket-book warrants much of a discount. The money's not really received very far up front and there's not much of a commitment from the punter.
I think you need to have a minimum of 10 tickets from the club's point of view and that may well mean that the tickets would need to be valid for more than twelve months to make them attractive to the punter. Or they could be used by anyone. So you could buy ten tickets and use them to take you and your wife. Or your girlfriend. Or both. Just don't let them meet.
Only when someone actually tries this will we have some reaction from both sides.

Think 10 is too many games, as buying a season ticket generally gets 3 'free' games anyroad so it works out the same as buying a season ticket - we need summat to plug that gap so I think 6-8 tickets would be ideal (if people wish to use all 8 at the same game then that's up to them, and it opens up a whole other market in one swoop).

| But if you could use them next season ........
Or share one with the wife ......
It's all about making the club's admin worthwhile. If you're just going to sell tickets to your existing supporters cheaper than you would have done otherwise, what's the point ? There has to be an angle in it for the club.
If it's not a good deal for the club, they won't sell them. If it's not a good deal for the punters, they won't buy them.

| Actually it is since they provide the 'entertainment' (or not) but since the introduction of contracts the spectator does not come into the equation, its cash, cash, and more cash I'm afraid, and its down to the speccies to provide the majority of that.

| Have to disagree there. The players' job is to play to the coach's plan. The coach's job is to win games. It's the job of your management to pull people in through the gate. That might, of course, influence their choice of coach and players.

| I'd be disappointed if the prices go up but I'd understand. They've got to put some credance into getting people to buy season tickets with signings and intentions for next season.
The problem is without promotion and relegation and the knowledge that we don't have chance of a licence for SL at the end of season may put any casual fans off completely. That's a fact the game (not only Leigh) needs to realise and deal with and quickly.

| Would it not be a really good idea if the club were as flexible as possible with the season tickets. If people want to pay up front for a full season ticket, brilliant. They get the best 'price per game'. If people want to pay monthly or weekly that's fine too, give people that option, not a lot of people have £150 or more lying about. And also bring in 50% and 75% season tickets for people (like me) who work shifts or can't make every home game so an ST isn't an option. It gives fans another option and gets the club some more money 'up front'.

| If people want to pay by instalments couldn't they save these instalments before they buy. They will have had 12 months to accumulate the full price. The club needs the money up front not in a trickle.

Why do they need it up front ?
Will they be playing the players' wages up front ?
That's one of the game's problems - clubs spend the season ticket money as soon as it comes in and complain they're potless later on.
Who'd've thought it ?
Not just picking on Leigh here - they're all the same. Pretty much.

Possibly. But most of the season ticket money comes in at Christmas in my experience. Or later.
And either way, you're spending next year's gate money on this year's wages.

| I'm suggesting that any club which needs next year's season ticket money to pay this year's wages needs to have a hard look at itself.
Put your hand on your heart and tell me I'm wrong.

There's no concrete suggestion that Leigh are in that boat.
