How would you describe Paul and Derek's signings since Sep 2013?

I don't think I have seen him play so will decide when I have.

Ste like most Leigh fans I think the majority of the Club's signings are a big success , you only have to look at last season's results to see this.As for them being Paul and Derek's signings, while I agree about Paul part, surely some mention MUST go to Andy Mazey.I remember the first time he messaged on this board to rally the Fans round and I feel without his input the progress this Club has made would not have happened.Of course this is my opinion but I think Andy made the said signings possible just as much as the others, including my own mucker Maurice, and Alan Platt, who hardly ever gets a mention.

Charlie I respect anyone and everyone who's invested in the club, but put simply the signing of players are down to Paul and Derek.

Just put this on the banter page, that when I read this I rang a few Salford mates to ask about the lad. Personally I can't really remember seeing him play but three of the four I spoke to said that they could not see why Salford have sold Andrew as he has always given 100%. All were sorry that he was leaving. Can't wait to see him play in a Leigh now. Hope it's Sunday.

My reference to old saviours of the club is just that its history as is Andys involvement. Any how i wont change my predictions; we have the best team, the best squad, the best coach so therefore with even better players in 2015 than 2014 why wont we better ourselves. I think there is very little difference between 9th in SL and 3rd in the Championship in 2015 as will the months of July/August prove. Neil is right Paul as Head Coach and Derek as Head of Rugby have always been responsible for player recruitment (and I would add do a marvellous job), however there are other aspects to bringing in players to a RL club i.e. player welfare and also building the club a profile so they see a bright future ahead and want to join a club on the up. The hard work that went into turning the perception of the club in the town, community not to mention the RFL and LSV. should never be underestimated and the whole BOM played its part.

As for your rather one sided recollection of my time at the club I will refrain from putting you straight in the public domain but id be more than happy to speak to you directly and disclose to you the many thousands of pounds in both acquiring shares and also sponsorship's and donations on top, not to mention the many days I took out of my business and evenings I gave up out of my private life as well as the cancelled holidays etc. in what I now look back on as a challenging and hectic period of my life as im sure everyone else involved does. We all did it and do it for the love of the club and im sure every fan would do if they could.

You are right about one thing, I was and still am passionate about the community and supported the U20s, Community Foundation in its infancy and also helped develop the community club partnership and bring the community clubs back on side after years of isolation and lack of trust in previous regime's. The community is a passion for me rather than what was necessarily my official role and this is were I am channelling my spare time, efforts and cash now and while we shouldn't look back you need to respect the fact there are people no longer with the club that have played significant roles in making it what it now is today and have laid a fantastic foundation to hopefully move forward with.

Just for the record I was by title Communications Director, I did the community side because I care about the town and its young people that will never ever change. Would you not agree that since June 2013 the club has never been as strong from a communications perspective ?? Long before Mike Lathom (who I respect 100pc by the way) came back to the fold mid last season, we as a team off the pitch had changed the way people thought about the club with a clear honest and open policy on communications and everyone involved worked wonders changing the face of Leigh Centurions. Basic but effective communications systems and structures were put in place that people are now able to build on. One person in particular did so well in my comms team he now sits doing it in Derek's office in a paid capacity



Commercially the club has also grown under the guidance initially of John Roddy and latterly Mike Norris, who do you think introduced the likes of Evans Halshaw to the commercial manager at the time though? I will tell you, the same person who wined and dined the Director of the said company as guest at numerous away games last season to develop the relationship further.

Its all old news we've all moved on and I was on the North Stand Sunday cheering on Paul and The lads and have publically gone on record as a supporter and shareholder supporting Derek as our major shareholder and owner since my departure and will continue to do so as I want more than anyone to see MY TEAM in SL.

Everything is rosy so lets focus on the year ahead!!!

In addition you try to put me down ( a leigh fan on a leigh forum) who has ambitions of winning the Challenge Cup. Its narrow minded, half filled glass Leythers who IMO have held back the club. Aim high you might just achieve it. Is there any reason why we cant win, Sheffield did, we of course did in 1971.

For the record as i have previously stated i respect anyone who helps our great club in any way, shape or form. That would be from the guy cutting the grass, the video man (Hello Fred), the director who puts in £5k, the director who puts in £50K, the director who puts a million in.

What i fail to understand why YOU need to be commended and not the other 9 who formed the original BOM. As far as I know 2 others log in on this site, one frequently (Neil) and one occasionally (Ste Opey). Why arent others asking for their continued mention after all havent they dont the same as you?

The point of this thread was to celebrate the signing of another great acquisition to what is the best Leigh squad since 1982. Yet its derailed into you actually believing you have helped to play a part in these acquisitions by changing the profile of the club. If you believe it then it must be true,.........

I think you are reading into things that aren't there Ste. I have of course heard of selective memory but selective reading is a new one to me.....

My name was brought into the thread I hadn't previously posted, you then proceeded to comment and in my opinion disrespect my contribution to the clubs success hence me giving you a little reminder of the facts.

I always from day one championed the BOM as group of people of which I was just one of. As a communications director and having been given social responsibilities for the club at the time we got together as part of my duties my name tended to crop up more than most and my head was always above the parapet but every person added value in their own way and deserves respect for there efforts and commitment at a time when it wasn't as rosy as it is today.

I have also many times praised the likes of Steve Opy and others on here as he IMO was the unsung hero of our boardroom during my time and put in far more hours than I or anyone else did myself, Derek and everyone else included.

Your questions are very leading but not falling into the trap mate sorry better things to do with my time these days but as stated if you ever want to know anything about my situation don't listen to hear say you can have my number mate gladly.

I will however reiterate my earlier statement once again above as you clearly chose not to read it:
