| Well, as bad as we played and as good as Fev played. The ref missed some absolutely blatant penaltys.

| We actually played some good rugby at times, but nobody appeared to be playing at the standard we're used to seeing. Ref missed a few we should have had, but then again we made some schoolboy errors - dropping the ball, forward passes, lying on and failing to gather a loose ball at a critical moment. Keep the faith - it's not over yet.

| I fear that if I cannot make it next thursday then that was the last time I will see the boys play this season. They don't look like a team anymore. I really want to see a hungry defence and for us to get in their faces. We let Fev play tonight and we were again lazy in defence.

| man for man they were a yard faster than us in the backs, people around us were coming up with, they want another game at the sports village for extra cash.if true a very dangerous game to play.we were poor against dewsbury, and i thought very poor tonight.they looked like they had never played with each other before.
fevs forwards were knackered after 25mins but we had no idea what to do with the ball.

Just after we scored a few of your forwards looked tired . We dominated for 5 mins and looked like we had a chance then you scored off a poor kick and chase . Then you battered us

| Not seen Leigh as disinterested and un-team-like since 2009.
We all know Roby is clueless, semi ref FFS???, and Basil should know how to manipulate how he refs. Powell sussed it and we stood back and admired.
The rucks were dominated by Fev who slowed us down and never set square. They played the ball much quicker and the distribution was far better, with the pass often getting the attacker outside our defender.
Our chase was woeful, eg 2nd try, and we never put any pressure on when defending.
Changes, if we actually wanted to win:
1. Higson in the centres, Littler in the pack
2. Nicho at 9, Robbie wasn't interested
3. If we get Armstrong back then drop Maden

| oops I was stuck on the M62 hardly moved for an hour. Managed to get home and watch some of the game. Not good!!! at least I saved petrol and didn't have to pay for three tickets. They played like as if Rowley was back as head coach again.

| We ended up flying through the traffic after the Rochdale junction though there again we did leave at 5 and only got to Fev about 25 minutes before kick off. Top following from Leigh all the same.

| Would never drop maden! Defensively sound, and great under the high ball! What i would do though, is stop playing the defensively weak Nanyn, and the defensively inept McGilvary on the same side!

Good analysis...and explains why Fev benefited from the majority of refereeing decisions which almost always seem to be made more in line with the momentum of play rather than observation/evaluation of what actually happened.
That said I struggle to remember ever seeing a Championship/NL side perform at the level Fev did for an hour last night (maybe Cas against Widnes in the 2007 GF) but can they play that well, and Leigh so badly, again.
In 2005 Cas went to Haven in the major semi and were blitzed but 2 weeks later the result was reversed in one of the most one-sided finals you'll ever see.
Leigh showed enough in glimpses last night to suggest that if they overcome Sheff/Fax the GF really could be a whole new ball game.

Tough question. All I can say is that that is how Fev have been playing of late. With speed and confidence across the park. I can't see any reason why they can't continue with the same skill, speed and intensity levels for one more game. So to answer thaose questions - re Fev = Yes Re Leigh = Don't know!!
Plenty on here made reference to our game in April at the LSV in their predictions of the game. A foul night in April with more than half a team out was only ever going to result in a comfortable victory for Leigh but in no way was an indicator of form for a game 5 months later!
We have stengthened, got some confidence and look sharp now.
Will we be able to win in Oct?? - No idea.
However, I suspect that you are not necessarily the shoe-in for the final I perhaps thought you was on Wednesday. Play like that next week and the result will be anything but a foregone conclusion.

| Fev have found our weak spot out wide and exposed it big time last night - they were getting from under the sticks to the touchline in 2/3 passes at the most whereas sometimes we just don't seem capable of spreading the ball out wide anywhere near as much.

| Our weakness out wide doesn't take much spotting, it's been a recurring problem for how long now? Even I'd know enough to tell a team to attack us down the wings.
Working nights has its advantages now..

You've only been beaten twice all season in this comp!
If it is a recurring problem, it doesn't appear to be a massive one Nik!

| It is Robin it's just that most teams in this comp aren't fast enough to react to it when it happens, there's only yourselves and Halifax exploited it, we normally shuffle across quite well but last night was virtually a repeat of our loss V Fax earlier in the season, Powell obviously did his homework and studied the vid of that game.

Which is a fair point, except they literally went round our right edge 4 times... Maden didn't miss tackles, he just ended up hitting the centre who offloaded to the winger in space. Where was the in-to-out push on that flank? Is it Littlet, or the right side forwards, or what? Don't have an answer... May have one after I've seen the tv recording of the game.
