i know there was a site on facebook campaigning for shandy to turn on the christmas lights in leigh town centre, it got over 1000 members


shandy told me he believed the hype, and went to the town hall to inquire when they wanted him!!

when they knock down the ts stand, please look out for the toy car robert lost down the back there two seasons ago.

I actually feel for you guys right now. I can totally imagine how gutting it feels. I'll feel just the same if we ever get our new stadium and The Willows goes.

Even as an opposition supporter who frequently called HP a dump... it's still sad to see.... and feels quite heartbreaking. It's a real RL ground with real RL tradition. I'll miss my visits there.

Sadly that is the way all grounds of this era will go in the next 10 or so years. At least they can't take away our memories

The scoreboard's been cremated, and they're removing the asbestos from the Tommy Sale Stand.

Spread it's ashes over the LSV field, says I.

they may get more than 40 games a season out of it by doing that

according to my grandad the horseshoe is under the concrete terracing in the corner between ts terrace and glebe st end and it can stay there he says hahaha

Today saw the white building at the top of the terraces demolished , this I think was part of the learning centre and also where Turk used to sit with his walkie talkie on match days .

Didn't take em long to flatten it , The last stand and the Tommy Sale terrace been told it will be next week sometime when that goes , still to put a few pics on here yet

When I called this morning, the men in white suits were working on The Tommy Sale Stand - the boards at the top of the stand have been ripped down - including "The Tommy Sale Stand" one - I'd post the pics but I don't know how to do it on here - if someone wants to PM me and explain then I'll post them.

I've been on site this morning and the boss says that they are just waiting for the scientist to come this afternoon to give the all clear that all the asbestos has gone. If the scientist gives the all clear then the stand will be coming down in the morning - he's told me to be there for 10.30am.

(He also said that if I call back later on today, hell be able to tell me for definite but I'm not sure I've got the time to go back.)

might jus pop down as im in the area in the morning, went past today and its looking really really sad now (coul;d have done with some of that cladding off the stand though for my shed

) will be glad now when'the old girl' is flattened and gone.
