I'm not sure any club would have been able to deal with these events any differently as essentially no one still knows why Rowley left and Ryan is saying one thing whilst doing another.
Lets not forget though that in Paul and Ryans situations the media have been aware of what was going o before the club which makes fans form an opinion that shows neither Paul or Ryan in a particularly good light.

Best thing for Leigh now is to not respond to any more press quotes (as they need clubs responding to fan flames as Salfords owner found out)and for our staff, owners and players to now commit to let what we do on the park do the talking, no more DB articles (leave it to the captain and coach) as whatever is said will be twisted.

No Leigh are not angels, but they did contact Warrington first, and then Mickey became 'unsettled' if you like, wanted to return to his 'hometown club' despite the fact he could win silverware with Warrington in his latter years. Brierley is young, and not from Bradford, but your 'angelic' club did not contact Leigh Centurions first (according to our club statement). So, he will not be joining you guys, he will be on 'gardening leave' for the remainder of the season (unless he joins a SL club). As if we would let him go to the club who are our MAIN rivals. So you'll be glad he's played his last game for us, but won't be playing for Bradford Bulls either.

We've had A bit of dirty laundry out in public of late which is not helpful....and certainly not conducive to keeping people on board....and all players at the club have remained silent and choose not to respond to any of the stories in the medi and in club statements.

Seriously though, this is the 1st we've heard about this. I'd be very surprised if the Bulls have made an illegal approach as that's not how they seem to operate but if they have then they should be punished accordingly. We've had most of our star players poached over the last few years so we know what it's like on the sticky end. Fact is, it happens too often and there doesn't seem to be to much anybody can or are willing to do about it.

I doubt threatening legal action via the media is likely to win over the rest of the dressing room.
The club has generally been good at allowing players to develop their careers-Chris Hill and Sam Hopkins-but this saga with Ryan has been a bit of a car crash.
I've no idea who or if anyone is to blame but the club can control its media statements. Some have been pretty poor lately.

You're right to have an opinion to say when you think people are not doing the right thing,however it's the clubs call when a player decides to do a u turn on his contract and decides he doesn't want to be a part of the clubs goal and aspirations anymore, which are set out to every player/coach/staff at the start of the contract.It doesn't appear to me that the club is causing this dirty laundry and the recent statement from the club is right. As far as the pseudonym goes,well most are just a username. If at any time you would like to have a civilised discussion, I would be happy to do so,just ask.

Ah The Ryan Brierley show rumbles on... Has he not gone yet? Because he needs to. In all my years watching Leigh what is unfolding with this kid is nothing short of a disgrace. The lad clearly does not want to play for Leigh, and win or lose I only want to pay good money to see players who want to wear our clubs shirt.. Swap him for Gaskell, a very good and talented player able to direct play and finally please lets draw a line under the whole sorry Brierley saga.

Absolutely spot on. Ridyard is our main man on the field, He may not run in 80 yarders but everything Leigh create goes through him. He is the one we are missing right now. Get him a proper scrum half like he used to have with young Ellis to share the playmaking duties with.

Definitely. We are currently missing a lot of great players like McNally, Beswick, Chase and Brierley. But if I could have one player back who would improve the side the most it would be Ridyard for certain.

He isn't very quick, he doesn't score many tries but we are twice the side when he is on the pitch. I would compare him to Danny Brough at Hudds or Sean O'Loughlin at Wigan in terms of his importance to the side.

The sooner he is back the better but with ribs it is an awkward one. You cant strap it up or avoid using your ribs. It is just a case of being better when he's better. It can't come soon enough!!

I think this is purely about wage. He wants to be in SL. Bradford/Leigh have similar chances of going up - if any of that statement is true, he prefers to stay at Leigh, as long as his contract is boosted. He must feel that there's a wage discrepancy in the dressing room with your new players this season. It's a shakedown from his agent.

It's all about money and ego. Sorry Ryan but your ability is not that to be a regular SL player. Holding a club to ransom, a club that has developed you over the last few years the guy is a disgrace and a hype job. Let him go now instead of serving his notice. If he wants to go to Bradford or Huddesfield Reserves good luck to him. There are 19 year olds performing in SL that are far superior to what he believes he is.

As for the rest who have refused to train because they want to move to Wigan, Not training because Rangi is on this and getting away with that. Your professional rugby players do your job to the best of your ability then may be a club may come in for you. Some of the players are showing a huge disrespect to the club and the supporters, I didn't agree with the Rangi signing but at the end of the day how many people bought shirts with his name on? How many people decided to get a season ticket on the back of the signing? He's the highest paid because of that!! And he showed in 5 minutes against London he can change a game. we need Derek to get back in his cave and stop threatening legal action every 5 minutes.
