| Quote ="jesus-is-coming"So back to my original point[pointing at the flippin large elephant do people think the 55% increase is too much?
By the look of it the board whats left of it have said, don't offer the same reduction as last year these people will pay anyway.
Sometimes you can go to well one time to many.
To be honest have been a season ticket holder for ages now and I rarely went to the early rounds of the train cup, gave the pointless cc game v the amatuer team a swerve generally missed a few mid season due to work and holidays but because of the reasonable price it didn't bother me to miss them games and it properly didn't bother me it would have been cheaper to pay on match days compared to the season ticket price I had paid.
If the club had kept the same early bird price all last years season ticket holders would still have coughed up,its just when you see such a rise in price, even perhaps a small increase would not have caused this 13page thread.
Think the club missed a chance to get season ticket sales in early this year, what were last years sales? 500-600 at a guess anyone have the actual figures?
At least a few have been brave enough to say they will not bother with the season ticket for this year
Like I said earlier in this post it didn't bother me to miss game because of the price, daft as it sounded it felt as though I was contributing to the club even though I choose to miss them games.
Had a look at fev and haliax prices fev £145 and halifax £180 think the club did the same and charged a tenner less than fax

The club would have loved to get S/T's on sale early for 2012. There was just one small stumbling block - there was a very good chance that there wouldn't have been a club at all next year! Hence, they had to resolve that serious problem, before they could contemplate setting things in motion for 2012 - like tickets, coach, players, etc.
As for your other points on prices, it's a tricky one, with a predictably divided opinion on it. My personal take is that we have been getting S/T's 'on the cheap', especially when you consider that we have frozen prices for a few seasons. That said, I can well understand the objection/nervousness at a price increase.

This is the problem when you do a ' special deal ' offer on ST s , like the ones at Huddersfield , Bradford and Dewsbury , if it isn't sustainable , and you revert back to ' real ' cost , it is a massive jump , that's the reason I personally don't like them , or early bird offers , basically you are just giving up all your profit , it just doesn't work

Goodness knows what will happen if Bradford have to revert to 'normal' prices. They are aiming at 15,000 s/t's at something like the price of our 'early bird' concession last year. There certainly won't be 15,000 takers if they hike back up to SL prices in the future!

The moaning going on on hear will be nothing compared to bradford and huddersfield when they revert back to normal prices.

Prior to that season tickets had dwindled to less than 5000. So effectively they could reduce the season tickets by 66% to match revenues of 2010 season. Except ad hoc sales of programmes, food, beer etc from 15,000 is better than from 5000 speccies. A phased price increase of 10% Per season quickly takes you back up to old pricing structure but with some good luck on the field you might make the original 5k up to 10k whilst you continue the journey!!

Yes we understand the principle behind it , especially as they do gain off ' other sales ' unlike ourselves , but if they don't have on field success , it all starts getting twitchy in the nether regions , massive gamble that only works if you have other income streams like 1.2 million from SKY

Admittedly it's a risk that will be softened by Murdochs cheque. But by us hoping people come week after week buying matchday tickets is also risky in our environment of a meaningless league.

Of those figures, how many of those are for terracing and how many for seating? Don't forget it's £150 for the North Stand at Leigh so it's only fair to compare like-for-like.

When I had a quick check most were seating anyway and each figure was the dearest I could find.
As for the point of it,well for discussion really or as this independant fans forum been hi jacked by the club and people dare not question anything?
Earlier on dick you were laughing saying swinton will go bust ?
now seeing as most of the other clubs have not gone cap in hand to the rfl to be bailed out and are charging less than us and pulling in a few hundred speccys less each game they seemed to be better run than us.
So with 9 home games a pointless cc game and 2 rail cup games, miss a game with thursday night could be down to 8 matches for me to watch
your book of tickets is properly the best option for most fans now me included,is the club going to do it?
At £170 can't see many being shifted

Question anything you like , as long as it is reasonable to do so , if there are obvious reasons why something has been done a certain way though , dont expect not to be criticised for asking
Quite possibly they are , or have been better run , or maybe they are just ' different ' to us , no 2 clubs are the same , or have the same income/financial backing/costs
The ' ticket book ' might be looked at , but probably not this year I would guess , we already have plenty of options with a family ticket option on the way
Not disagreeing with you , but as I said fans have the option of Monthly , weekly or one off payment , I dont really see how many other ways the club can accomadate everybody
