| The pricing policy is an absolute joke. Come on lets be honest?
Last year it was £16 per adult ticket to watch the Super League and World champions in a Challenge Cup QF and last 8 knock out Challenge Cup tie. Ryan Hall, Rob Burrow , Danny Maguire and Kevin Sinfield et al, A place in the last four at stake?
This year they want an increase in that admission price to watch a Leigh v an Amateur team first round tie? Who on earth is calling the shots at Leigh RLFC these days?
Do they think the Leigh public is a wash with money?
Who wants to watch Swinton? Congratulations to the Leigh BOD for pricing me out of the match.

| I agree it's a bit steep at £18 and unfair to expect leigh fans come to watch our game.
I think the problem lies in the fact that gate monies are shared with both games so in effect after costs both Swinton and Leigh will get only a quarter share each, therefore I suspect the thinking is to try and maximise the money they can generate with the bulk of support coming firstly from Leigh and then Swinton.
I assume it is on the Saturday so we can accomodate the French.?
Either way I think a single game ticket should be made available for fans wanting to watch just their own team. I sympathise with anyone who has little kids, trying to keep them entertained for nearly 4 hours especially if the cold weather is still with us.

I hadn't checked, as I don't care who Swinton are playing.
I have no interest in Swinton's fixtures unless they have a direct effect on Leigh or a match stands out for some other reason entirely. Swinton v Toulouse does not qualify under either condition. I had no interest yesterday, have no interest today and will have no interest next weekend.
On my list of things to do, watching a Swinton game in the cold appears nowhere. I wouldn't go if they were giving tickets away.
As it is, both Leigh and Swinton fans are being forced to pay a surcharge for the other game should they only want to watch their own team. That stinks.

Sadly Old pal in this instance I think the cost blame lies firmly at the Leigh club as £18 is your normal gate fee and you wouldn't lower it to £15 which is what Swinton charge unless the ticket is pre-booked then it is only £12 for league matches.

Peawaap , i hope you and your family enjoyed the Worky game , it was an improvement on the Swinton game , but i feel you are being very harsh blaming Swinton for your non attendance of the Cup game , nobody is being forced to attend to watch Swinton , myself i shall be watching the National , then watching Leigh later .
As for the price to enter again you cant just blame Swinton , and if you watch both games , the price is not extravegant , what are the likes of Fax and others charging for one game ?

| Has anyone considered the amateur clubs followers in this ? , 18 quid plus travel costs to watch their team get torn up ( Hopefully ) seems a bit excessive .
My memory's on the blink but was it last year or the year before at this same stage when all 3 Leigh teams were drawn at home , the Miners played Friday evening , the East played Hunslet on the Saturday afternoon and the Centurions played on Sunday afternoon . I went to watch the East v Hunslet game ( with the March brothers as special guest referees ) and paid a mere 7 squid to sit in the West stand .
If it was feasible to split the games up then , why can't it be done now ? . And can anyone remember who the Centurions played that weekend and how much it cost to get in ? ,

Charlie I agree.
But I think both clubs should give each set of fans the option to buy one game tickets. For what it's worth I will watch the Leigh game as well.....some of us remember how Leigh have helped us out in the past.

| we wont be there... i refuse to pay hard earned money to watch this.......
10 quid for the individual game would of just about been ok...
18 quid your having a laugh
you should be doing your best to help the fans, to help the club....
instead of this...........
no doubt this WILL be the worst turnout since the LSV was built.....
your own fault......

| I'd argue 98% of Leigh or Swinton fans couldn't give a monkeys about either clubs game (in fact I'd say you could put Salford v Catalan on before Leigh v East Leeds and most Leigh fans would still only watch the Leigh game.
Saying to fans (indirectly) you need to pay more to watch your own club play a unattractive fixture whilst hiking the cost for the amateur team (thus ensuring they have to decise if its a value for money trip) is a poor decision.
The CC (like a lot of things in RL) needs looking at in detail and for someone at the RFL to take ownership of each competition to maximise its potential (and be accountable for it).
In terms of the double header I'd say our board may have split the cost with the other clubs but in doing so they have quite possibly ensured we will have less fans turning up to watch our own club play which in the long term makes this a poor decision IMHO.

You've nearly nailed it on the head Michael but I'm going to highlight a few bits you missed .
This is our 4th home match in a fortnight and people can't afford it .
The LSV / Club don't expect a huge crowd for this " Double Header " and will only have the West stand open to squeeze as much out of the spectators as possible .
I'm like you I couldn't give a monkey's toss who Swinetown play or have any inclination to go out of my way to watch them and some Swinetown fans will feel the same and leave after their game , but you have to feel for their loyal supporters who are now going to be fleeced to watch their team .
Couple all this together with NCL Div 1 side East Leeds followers who are made up drawing a top Championship side away and hoped for a good day out and to gain some funds from this game to keep their club running at all levels , and they won't be interested in watching Swinetown either
My bet is that the East Leeds supporters will be in the Leigh East clubhouse watching the British obsession with a curiosity Horse race that stops a nation " The Grand National " where everyone's granny has a 50p E/W bet and then go to the match and be ripped off .
Even the Toulouse players and fan will ask one question after the match " Quel cheval a gagne Grand National ? " and " Le bleu de sacre qui est la demiere fois je suivent les bouts de Charlie Caroli "
A scandalous decision from whoever made it and I don't expect a reasoning from up above any time soon .
I hope PR uses this game to blood some of our U20's youngsters mixed with some experienced players and let's see just what talent we have coming through

| For once I can almost sympathise with the club here.
The price of £18 for 1 game is not on however if you stated £10 for one of the games, it would work fine for the later match as they just dont let you in until after a certain time, the problem would be for the first game, who's going to organise and police getting people out of the stadium who have only paid for the first game?
Catch 22 to me
