| Meekin and Morrison did play. Meakin seeemed to have taken a knock early but nothing too serious.
We would not have won today with our best two props.
We could not even manage to not drop the ball when it came out of our side at a scrum.

| Clueless in attack, predictable, un-interested the list goes on.
Why do we never seem to have any attacking guile about us, everytime we get the near line we look clueless and end up playing one man stuff. We were lucky York didn't take all their chances today otherwise it could of easily been more.

| I didnt think York were much better than wigan colts or a scraped together owdham.York bombed a couple of tries at least today through a bad final pass and lack of composure.
So where does that leave us? Currently we lack the power and the pace.Kick n chase was good, try to be positive, and we might have pinched the game, undeservedly, if Nanyn and Stanton had shaped themselves or Robbie had been more accurate or timed his short passes better.
How much improvement do we have in us, some, with everyone fit and youthful addditions.I recall a performance in this cup at Swinton when we thought things must improve but they didn't.

| Ok robbie had a shocker, and the majority were not any great shakes, but surely Ridyard has to start at half back, hartley offers little in defence and even less in attack.Keep the faith

| Like i said last week BE VEREY AFRAID, we offer very little,in attack or defence, even against lower Division teams ,it wont get any easier against the Championship teams ,we are in for a rough time , but Basil WILL sort it out ,he wont put up with this for long, i have faith.Heads MUST ROLL to move forward .

| For me, we still suffer from last season's problems - a lack of penetration and pace. Ironically, the defence seems more tenacious, but it's no use restricting a team to 13 points, when we can't score that many ourselves!

| At least in the last quarter the team showed that there was some rugby in us of which there was very little evidence for in in the first 60 minutes.
On a more positive note the flag looked good from the stand we were sitting in.

| NEVER A DULL MOMENT. think you need to stop eating them sour grapes old mate , you arent giving york the credit they deserve , wigan colts or a cobbled together oldham , but for a bit of over enthusiasm with the final ball the winning margin would have been even greater , but that said best of luck for the season

| Boring, predictable, lacking in basic skills. Even when it got to 12-12, it wasn't exciting, we all knew we would lose to a drop goal and the umpteenth dropped ball allowed them it. Sorry guys, can't justify the expense of away games, especially if the games are as poor as that. One thing I will say is that in my opinion everything picked up once Duffs and Ridyard were on. At least I noticed Ridyard, and as for Robbie. I think his press work is already interfering with his committment to the cause.

| I thought Army, Leuleui, Taylor, Alstead, Duffy and Mc Connell had good games , Higson wasnt given long enough, although he was took off for knocking on which he didnt near the end, how Paul and Hartley get on before Ridyard is beyond me. Duffy 6 Ridyard 7 Jock 9 please next week oh and Morty back at fb please.
I have Alstead on the wing too AND A BETTER centre to feed Stanton, Nanyn too slow atm.

Best team won on the day.I did say York could have scored a couple more. But it was a very poor game far too many unforced errors.Thats why most of these lads are playing at this level.
Our aspirations, with respect, are much greater than yours but the way we have started off....frustrating!!
Thanks for the friendly welcome, still behind Batley though.
Best of luck to ya but on the way back over the hill to gods county Hunslet chairman said they are gonna win the league.

| Tim is a decent centre and did well for us in that position the back end of last year, i dont think we ever played him stand off throughout his Widnes days. Nanyn has never had good pace you have to get used to that.
Nice to see duffman playing decent though.

| Said it before that Hartley should be a centre and a Ridyard/Paul halfback combination......... Jock at 9 and Duffy coming off the bench to add to the attack play when needed.

| I think I would play Hartley centre and Alstead on the wing. and have Duffy coming off the bench in case we have a repeat of today.
Ridyard seems to me a lot better than last season.
Not much more too say apart from still very p'd off with today.

| well firstly congrats to york, they played well, wish we could of left the clueless paul and taken thorman back with us, he controled the game for york,we were shocking, when do you normally sub your stand off, millward signed hartley thinking he was the answer to our problems at half back, well i do not claim to know as much about rl as ian, but come on basil, fred parky could of played stand off and done better, (no disrespect fred) for us to still bve in the game at the end was amazinbg, but we blew that chance by knocking on and giving thorman the chance, people said fans were over reacting, i'm affraid anybody who went today knows we are not, we have no pace, no creativitiy, and those 2 things would not of been solved with nash/hill or bibbey in the team. Ian start doing something differebt, but to be to you mate, you can't shine s**t. not good enough leigh by some distance.

Did you notice the other ones on the track, Italian style? Far too much effort to get more than one at the back of the stand. We need DemonUK's monkeyboy son to make a return
As for the performance, what an absolutely waste of time, money and effort. Utter bobbins. Thorman showed Robbie up big time.

| Thorman always plays well against Leigh, remember 2002 and our SL year?
We seem to be missing Watson's organisation more than anyone envisaged.

| comparing Paul and Thorman just shows ignorance in RL, both are different types of players Thorman is a controller Paul is an opportunist and never has been a controller, and therein lies our problem Ian Watson got some sick from some of you lot over the years but boy oh boy will we miss him, he would have been great with paul running off him this year and Riddy coming off the bench trouible is York were completely underestimated by everyone today, well nearly everyone just ask the York cameraman what my prediction was at 2:55pm today .
Next week id have Paul at 1 Riddy and hartley starting halves and Jock MUST be allowed to control the play the balls with duffs running the 2nd reciever
yes Paul was cr@p today but they dont become that way overnight, so lets stop looking at the negatives, yes there were not many positives so Well done York ive no complaints beaten by a physically bigger faster and more commited team today, now Leigh close the book on it and get ready for the next one, we can only get better.

| physically bigger, well that can be explained with the loss of our props, faster, well i have said for ages we aint fast enough, and more committed, well that is a major concern to me, and should be to im and everybody concerned.
as for watson, jeez i wish we'd kept him.

| They would have been bigger with the three that were out, as for faster you cant put speed where it ain't, commitment is a state of mind I dont doubt the teams commitment I just question its level.
