lets face it,how many of them players want a crack at super league,,and how many know they are not good enough.the ones that know they will be let go probably wont put the work in now,but the ones who want a crack at it will have to start playing from now on.

Buying your way in is markedly different to earning it. 90% of your players know they have no chance of a SL contract, so enjoy wasting your money on the rest of your season. As mentioned elsewhere franchising/licensing is corrupt and nothing will make me see it any other way.

Demon your a bitter bitter man, we didn't buy our way in, we got rejected last time and then listened to the RFL and asked them what we needed to improve on.


Instead of sulking we did everything they asked and delivered an outstanding package.

If he'd been at Widnes 6 months earlier, you would've got in last time, unfortunately, the RFL had decided on their 14 clubs by the time he took over.

You got lucky - there's no expansion clubs even close to being ready for a franchise. Had there been another Catalans or Crusaders this time then you wouldn't have stood a chance.

Were Crusaders better than Widnes or Leigh or Halifax last time? Not a chance. Salford? What a laugh!

It was a farce last time, and it will be a farce again when Tolouse or Glasgow or Berlin or wherever are ready for a team.

This time around it was right place & right time for Widnes, nothing more. The RFL would screw you again like they did in 2005 and like they did in the last round of franchise applications if there was an expansion club to shoe-horn in.

Now you are getting smug. I congratulated Widnes on their elevation. I just think franchising is wrong and harmfull to the game I watch. I do not mind people disagreeing with me either and I would never spit out my dummy just because someone disagreed with me.

This Leigh side is the BEST I have seen for 30 seasons and I know it will not last long because of franchising. I have lost count of telling that to people in Leigh and everytime I ask why they do not come anymore they say because what is the point of watching friendlies.

Do I think any Leigh game is a friendly do I hell. I am a fan. Although I have congratulated Widnes had Barrow rightfully been promoted 2 seasons ago they might have improved their ground and their bloody awfull floodlights not to mention their attendances.

I have not posted much, and just sat back and laughed at some of the posts since we have got the nod.Been a few numpties from Wire posting crap and trolling already.

Been serious now i do not think many players in the Championship are good enough for Superleague, even at Leigh or Halifax.Salary cap goes from £300,000 to £1.8 million for Widnes next year or from £400,000 in our case.We was playing well in the NRC and having a blip the last few games, and i feel the franchising has distracted Widnes.We will be in the Top 5 at least, and players will have to play well to earn a decent contract.I think Dennis Betts has been out of the game too long and an experienced coach like Millward,Noble, or Kear will get the job in Superleague, and Betts the assistant to learn.Anyway i will take Chris Hill only from Leigh.

No mate, just been busy in work and so many posts on the widnes trust site and rl fans to read.Majority of fans have been very complimentary except for the odd troll from Wire.Well i expected that as some of the Wire fans are up their own .I will miss the banter with Leigh, but wont miss you beating us every year.

When we are in Superleague i will look out for Leigh, as i would like them to get a franchise in 2015 over a yorkshire club.Ashame can not go on thursday due to work commitments, and i hope we play better this time.If Widnes can not win anything this year i will support the Lobbys over Fax or Fev.
