I suppose it comes down to it being cheaper to screen live from Leigh than Live from Barrow.

Its obviously the more attractive tie judging by the last round.

'Stadium fee' is / was based on a percentage of the gate money. Also, we have to share the gate, in a play-off game, with the opposition. I'm not saying that crowd boosting initiatives are a bad thing (we need to attract people in somehow) but the above are a couple of hindrances to such schemes.

Damn didn't want a Thursday game, Leigh East Ladies play Westhoughton Ladies that night.

Suits me fine I couldn't have made the Sunday game had it been then.

With regards to it being on TV I think the fact that Barrow have been taken apart the past month by a number of teams meant that this was the more attractive fixture.

A shared gate is a fantastic incentive .......... Sheff bring 3 fans and get rewarded with a return of ????.........I`d give them 100% of their last fans visit .

Shared gates are generally a farce at Championship level. (there are a couple of notable exceptions) A bit like us sharing the gate at Limoux, when we took two or three fans!

So you reckon the away team should come for nothing and pay winning pay out of thin air ?

No, it's obviously not going to happen, although they don't 'come for nothing', as travelling expenses are paid to the visiting team, before they take 50% of the gate. Also, the cost of staging the game, is paid to the home team, before the gate is shared. (i.e. cost of renting LSV, stewarding etc.)

Perhaps it's slightly unfair if the home team sells 1,500 tickets and the away team say 20?

No. If there's no away team, the home team sells no tickets at all. That's the thing about sport - you need an opposition.

We'll get that in the next round after our bye because you don't turn up. There again, might be facing the same problem of a lack of away fans if we play the Smogs in the next round...

On a friday night

Makes sense to me rather than the winners having four days to prepare for Fev or 'Fax.

Definitely - for us, or Sheffield, or Barrow, or Widnes. If it's us, presumably that won't leave enough time to publish a programme.
