£11 terracing and £13 seating sounds fair to me next season, though as a season ticket holder it doesn't make much difference to me.

What the club needs to do start preparing on two levels now.

Level 1 - the club. Everyone knows that we need to be the best side that C1 has ever seen. Players need to know this and they need to build a winning mentality. Teams that know how to win do win. Get it right behind the scenes Basil must have complete control.

Level 2 - the fans. It is inevitable that some will leave. What the club must do is make the product so attractive and attractively priced that people think twice before throwing in the towel. This must start NOW. Tell us things that will excite us and bring us in, assure us that the big signings are still coming and more will follow. Give Leigh some buzz again after a season of complete apathy.

Here comes the chicken and egg scenario again. The old question of. Where does the rent money come from if you drop your prices and the attendances also drop? It can't make ecconomic sense. I only hope the club have already started negotiations with the LSV for this. Something has to give now for all these ideas to work. The best would be for the LSV to reduce the clubs rent for a season in the hope that we do go up and attract bigger crowds. A better season ticket package is a must to get a good lump into the bank well before xmas. Dont do it when people are skint. I affraid we are going to have to go cap in hand to WMBC for help on this one. I would also be looking for sponsors now to sponsor free match day buses to the ground. Get someone working routes and time tables out now. The free coaches to Gateshead worked. The club shop could still have a chance at the LSV (even if its in a tent) but only on match days with another in the town centre open in the week.

I always get the impression we fear the speculate to accumalate regarding pricing. The ST initiative was typical really of a half hearted attempt to try something new but not think it through. The whole thing just got confusing in the end.
I know its chicken and the egg situation regarding where shortfall is madeup if tickets don't sell in big enough numbers if prices are cut, but some kind of risk needs to be taken.
LSV and the club need to sort a mutual solution. I remember Simon Toone (is that his name?) stating that its in their interest for the Rugby and football clubs to fill the stadium. More people in the stadium and more expensive pints and pies they sell too.

It would be good for the club to get Robbie out and about Leigh when he comes ,if they do get premises in Leigh he could sell some merchandise on 1st day and sign them.

Even though I'm as peed off as I was last night, realistically we have always needed to plan for the next 5 years, top to bottom.

That will be a better grounding than having a boom season next year and then stamping our feet when the inevitable happens and we dont get a 2012 franchise.

not sure about this. same as them disabled parking bays right at the front of all super markets. i would make these just for people with mercs, porshes, 4x4s because obviously they have more money and will buy more stuff.

We really do have an opportunity before us here , But it needs to be thought out properly

We will lose some fans because of the quality of our opposition , that is inevitable , some will not be happy to pay to see us ' hopefully

7/8/9 yr olds dont care who we beat

The club must approach the council with the intention of the council sponsoring the East stand to cover the stewarding costs , giving the club the ability to put families in that stand for free

Families only , no kids , no entry

No bar , to dissuade regular fans trying to get in for free

All tickets given out via organisations , schools , sports clubs , scouts and the like

Try to get sponsors to cover either free or cheap refreshments and ' give aways ' , provide other stuff like the stilt walkers and face painting

Make it a real family day with pre and post match stuff

Try to ensure that nobody gets in more than twice

And most important , explain it to the fans we already have , why we are doing it and the long term benifits of it and the importance of their continued support ' financially ' of the club

If that means giving out flyers on the turnstiles then do it

That's the only bit I disagree with - would sell dirt cheap season tickets for that stand (again, no kids, no entry) as I think people will grow used to the environment and would have a bit of a culture shock if going in to the North Stand after a couple of games.

Those who are genuine, or those who are signed off for their working life with a 'bad back/stress/idleitis (*delete as appropriate)' who use their free parking badge to park in front of Asda, and then run in for 200 Lamberts?

I've said it before IMO we need to make it so that the game is only part of the occasion, that way who we play kind of becomes irrelevant.

Possibly they gave up as what was on offer wasn't as good as the many other attractions available on a Summer Sunday afternoon


Those that live in Leigh and within 10 miles of Leigh should also be targetted , along wqith every school , youth centre , amateur club and sportsclub with block book cheap tickets or freebies.

We need people back or to follow the club otherwise last season will be remebered as one of the best


I actually think filling a ground by offering reasonably priced tickets (Then ensuring your merchandise is easily available to add to your coffers on matchday to recoup some of that money) , incentives to familys and buy early deals is just as good as playing in front of a hardcore of 850 paying top whack.

Yes to U11's, looking around the place not many took up the offer

They did.

They also did a deal for a cheap season ticket with promises of updates on sales, it didn't take off as expected and fizzled out without really making a success of the fact we moved into a state of the art RL ground.
