| There has been a contract offered to Ridy with a substantial increase prior to the signing of Burns as I understand. To date he has not taken up that offer. The club have to plan for the future as well as now. Wait too long and any decent available players will get fixed up elsewhere.

| Yesterday's performance was typical of our play when Ridyard doesn't play! I'm certain Riddy would have supplied the pass to get us over Fev's line, when we pressurised them in the second half?
I was bitterly disappointed with our performance yesterday and our half backs were largely anonymous ! like most fans I was eagerly awaiting to see our new half backs together however, I'm worried now!
I hope we are not making a massive mistake in allowing Riddy to leave? I presume he only wants to go as he see's his roll to be reduced with Burns becoming first choice!
Anthony Thackeray once again dominated the game against us! he is definitely the best half back in this division and he's proved it don't matter which club he's at! whether it be Widnes, Dewsbury, Sheffield or Halifax he always stars against us!
Him and Workington's Gerrard Sammut would be more than a match for any half back combination!
Appreciate Burns and Drinkwater combined for the first time and, our forward pack is somewhat depleted at the moment but, it is worrying!

He's had an offer on the table for four weeks with a 20% pay increase! He's chosen not to sign it and wait until later in the season to see what alternative offers he can get. What are the club supposed to do, just wait around?

| You can't criticise Drinkwater and Burns. They've been at the club a matter of weeks. It takes time. Our team looked disjointed yesterday, exactly how you look when you've hardly played a game for us.
Let's also remember we didn't have a recognised hooker on the field for most of the game after losing Hood. All disjointed again. Unfortunate, but it happens.
If Riddy wants to go and the club have offered him more money, then they've done all they can. Riddy is getting on in years, he needs to take what he can get whether it's Toronto or Wakefield - he'd be stupid not to.
For me. We play Burns and Drinkwater till the end of the season at 6&7. Let them settle till the 8s. Class will shine through.

| At the end of May players are free to be approached therefore clubs generally act by offering contracts to players they want to keep so mid season is completely normal. I also doubt someone doesn't get picked just because they haven't yet signed a contract offer. It is simply down to our coach doing his job and trying to arrive at a side that best fits his plans for each particular game. I don't see why because a player isn't picked it is because of some issue (Cunningham and Burns excepted of course). With Saints half back shortage now let's hope they call Charnock back from Bradford.

Or perhaps too good an opportunity to turn down either in financial terms or he (they) may consider it the experience of a life time.

| I see Toronto Wolfpack twitter showed a picture of the League Weekly article on who they have already signed up. Would they do that if they hadn't already tied these players up.

| So that is Rowley and Finny confirmed with Pownall, Kay, Beswick, Riddy, Sarsfield and Emmitt all rumoured to be following.
They are basically just recreating the Leigh side of 2015 but in Toronto

Hear hear
Some people seem desperate to leap onto any conspiracy theory based on anything at all. Ridy has been playing all season sometimes with injuries, we've got a young lad in Reynolds playing excellently yet still learning the game & 2 new halfbacks in Drinkwater & Burns who need to get to know the team & our style of play. Dropping Ridy for a couple of weeks doesn't mean he's had some big fall our & is on his way out. It means this year we've got a coach who understands flogging some players all season while not giving others any game time at all until everyone is either dead on their feet or not at match fitness when you need them isn't the way to succeed.

LS,but If what you say is true, then why not put stories to sleep when the opportunity arises. Post match interviews don't add up. One Riddy is getting his groin sorted, this week knowing full well the question would come from Mark Taylor regarding the Wakey speculation,he had a very well rehed reply. Nothing whatsoever in regards to Riddy's health.
If the truth isn't being stated when the questions are asked, then what do you expect people to do,other than speculate.

| Riddy isn't being rested, or kept fresh for the 8s, he's being kept out of the side by two new half backs. The merits of signing two new halves is a different debate, but lets not try and kid ourselves about the situation with Riddy.
As for the matter of resting and rotating players, we find ourselves in a position where the team is virtually picking itself, with all but 18 or 19 players either injured, out on loan or banned. For the amount of money ploughed in this season, that's not a great situation to be in. Just hope we're dont end up going into the 8s with our forwards, who are our main hope, being shattered.

Trouble is there's that many rumours started by so many different people (including the RL "Press"icon_wink.gif if the club went around denying them all there'd be no time to do anything else, especially as we only have a full time staff of 6 on the non playing side. Times & situations change week by week so answers will change. Ridy will be considering his situation for next season, his contract is up, he'd be daft not to & he's probably not decided what to do yet hence all the rumours & the lack of facts. He's probably not happy at no longer having a guaranteed start. However I'd expect both Ridy & Jukes to be professional enough that none of that matters with the day to day stuff. I really do think some people are desperate to see conspiracy in anything & everything & reality is nearly always a lot simpler. We'll probably hear something about Ridy's future soon enough but until (& possibly even after if it's revealed before the end of the season) then I expect Jukes to be developing his plan for the Super 8s & I expect Ridy to do what he's done for years & be a great general for our team.

The majority of rotation has been done using loanees. How have we ended up in this predicament? Will be a headache selecting the squad this week.

| No headache for me. Burns and Drinkwater 6/7 for the rest of the season. If Riddy is not up for playing, then we have an opportunity to have settled halves.
We've seen the class of Burns and Drinkwater in phases and these phases will grow the more game time they have and the more they learn the plays.
