It's pretty serious statement and as it was indirectly aimed at me via a reply to Mr Starbug I'm still waiting for an answer.

For now im giving you the benefit of the doubt and in presuming it was a flippant comment and not one that was aimed at me??

It is rarely I agree with you JiC but most of that I agree with. We must increase income but we cant simply request a 60% increase for less games, we must be more creative and offer perceived value in other areas to get fans buy in - unless of course we do not want ST's and our strategy is to get a weekly income throughout the season.

This season we need to claw back advance money from the RFL,once this is all sorted Im sure the club will look at future costings.

We could do that by Phil and Keith putting £50k each in - that is also a silly and unrealistic way of doing it.

Firstly sir may I apologise for not remaining glued to the forum over the course of the evening, had to out for dinner I am afraid but we had a wonderful evening. My friends cooked some lovely crayfish followed by rib of beef with a wild mushroom sauce.
Some excellent wines from Burgundy each one cost more than a season ticket to watch Leigh this coming season. I did feel a little guilty to begin with knowing that you couldn’t afford a season ticket and there I was ing five times as much down the toilet.
Now where were we? Ah yes your paranoia, let us get this straight, if I was going to direct comments at you I would link/quote your previous comments or I would address the comments to you, for example – “Hi Tipster Ste I think you are a little paranoid, I know people have said you are an idiot and you may be a bit of a drama queen but not everything written on the forum is about you.”

True. Anybody putting a large wodge of money in, would solve our immediate problems.

However, that particular 'model' has been tried time and again at Leigh, and it hasn't worked, I'm afraid. So, I suggest that throwing more large sums at the problem, will not solve it, long term - it will merely add to it.

As for our two remaining directors, they HAVE put in large sums of money, and aren't prepared to chuck any more in. They remain at the club, to run the place and try to keep it going, until/if any new investors will come in.

Lets look at this and break it all down as no-one as yet seems to have done, and factor in the cc game might be at reduced price but that we dont acutally know yet.

North stand ST = £150 divide by 12 = £12.50 a game.

Pay on the day = £15 x 11 + £10 cc game = £175

Buy b4 thurs = £13 x 11 + £10 cc game = £153

So season ticket still the cheapest option ok only just but STILL the cheapest and if anyone is telling me that £12.50 a game is not value for money to watch OUR team then they need to get in the real world.

West stand works out the same ST = £170, on the day if cc cup game gets reduced to say £12 = £199 and b4 thurs = £177 so again season ticket the cheapest way to watch leigh in all games tjis season and ST works out at £14.16 a game in west stand again outstanding value imho. We dont have authur now to bail us out with cheap season tickets and ours were bound to go up this year and are now in line with fax and fevs ST prices for this season and its them we should be comparing ourselved too.

As we said it is good value for money and if we can afford we will be getting one, depends on whether or not our customers decided to pay us on time or not. If not we will buy the next best option which is a ticket pre bought every Thursday.

Now I'd hazard a guess everyone has lost someone close to them so what was the point of your comment.

To find people applauding your comments is unbelievable. I can only hope the majority of Leythers on this forum fin your comments deplorable.

Incidently as for affording a season who said I can't afford one?? A sizeable personal investment went into the club last season and will probably continue.

How much did Peggy turf up or where you busy with your wine?

Just as a side note , I presume these pre paid tickets can be bought for a number of weeks in advance of the matchday (Ie : You can buy one at a match 2 weeks before) ?

I don't think that's the case JENKY, just the week before unless i am mistaken.

Don't see any reason why they won't be on sale well in advance.

Think the tv people would be a reason. Who knows how much notice we will get

Fixtures always subject to change and are as part of the terms and conditions when pre-purchasing a match ticket (or if they're not, then they should be as in line with every other clubs)

So back to my original point[pointing at the flippin large elephant do people think the 55% increase is too much?

By the look of it the board whats left of it have said,don't offer the same reduction as last year these people will pay anyway.

Sometimes you can go to well one time to many.

To be honest have been a season ticket holder for ages now and I rarely went to the early rounds of the train cup,gave the pointless cc game v the amatuer team a swerve generally missed a few mid season due to work and holidays but because of the reasonable price it didn't bother me to miss them games and it properly didn't bother me it would have been cheaper to pay on match days compared to the season ticket price I had paid.

If the club had kept the same early bird price all last years season ticket holders would still have coughed up,its just when you see such a rise in price,even perhaps a small increase would not have caused this 13page thread.


Think the club missed a chance to get season ticket sales in early this year,what were last years sales? 500-600 at a guess anyone have the actual figures?

At least a few have been brave enough to say they will not bother with the season ticket for this year


Like I said earlier in this post it didn't bother me to miss game because of the price,daft as it sounded it felt as though I was contributing to the club even though I choose to miss them games.

Had a look at fev and haliax prices fev £145 and halifax £180 think the club did the same and charged a tenner less than fax
