Our pack and our backs are better quality on paper. On the day? who knows? You're right as a fan not to accept defeat and you fans could make the difference. Fwiw I think Salford will be viewing this game as one of our most difficult. Local-ish rivalry (for us at least) playing away to a side that wants to prove itself in a hostile environment with some ex-players thrown into the mix. I just hope we're all talking about the quality of the game afterwards instead of any dodgy incidents.

I think that we are long overdue for a near perfect performance. If it comes this week then I feel that we will be ok. Regardless of Salfords performance.

FWIW I think it's best to think forward to the next game only. I am doing this by having my sofa delivered to LSV the night before the Salford match just in case I have to hide behind it should it turn out that we're getting Hammer House of Horrored. Charlie apparently knows but, by his optimism, I've a feeling he's been under a sport's psychologist for the last three days, after the debacle of the last few minutes against London. Hope she was a nice piece, Chas. Think the sofa transfer, though two way, was a cheaper way of dealing with my angst. Mrs Bongser may have something to say however when she finds out!

Then we'll think about the next game. I do agree that this game may toughen us up. I say that I'm not looking too far ahead but I've got to train up to get my sofa to Headingly

Cmon BaB,you have to have faith,although I agree the last 10 minites of the London game didn't inspire confidence ,when needed Leigh can turn the quality rugby on,and I think we can beat Salford, OK they should be a top 8 side but I've seen a few of their games this season and they are not that good, plus guys like Hock, Cory,and Hansen will want to spoil the Docs party.
Cancel Mountfords, keep the Sofa at home,and remember when folk are up against the odds it inspires them.There were Carolis at the Alamo,Little Big Horn,Rorks Drift,and Battle of the Bulge,they never gave up,they weren't heros, they just liked trouble

Having won the opening fixture, the timing of the Salford home match could not be better IMO. We need to get up to the required intensity to make a serious challenge. That challenge to progress really presents itself in weeks 3,4,5 and 6.

3 wins out of 4 in that four week period will be more than likely enough to secure a home MPG encounter in front of a packed out LSV, All before we have even got to Leeds and week 7

This time last year we went to a poor Bradford expecting to walk over them, they ended up turning us over in what was an embarrassing performance from us. Whilst this Salford team is totally different to last years, it just shows over 80 minutes anything can happen between two full-time teams.

In all honesty we shouldn't even be in this competition and it is unfair on the Championship clubs that we are. We're here by default because of misdemeanours from 2014 which is a shame for our 2016 team.

Not sure I can agree that a pack consisting of Hock, Paterson, Hansen and Maitua is better than ours but each of those will have something to prove on Saturday I am sure. It should be a great contest which I am really looking forward to.

it's obviously going to be a very hard tough game,all fans expect their own to win,I look forward to the game .

Thought our pack was poor on Saturday after watching LCTV, and dominated in the tackle by London. If that happens again then it will be a long and painful day. Hansen and Maitua looked very ineffective, and the only block busting run was Fui in which he seemed to hurt his hamstring not to return. We need to massively increase line speed, and I would have Smith at FB for this one as Dobson could kick us to death if we don't get the returns right. Complete at 75% and above and it will be a great game, but we need a big, loud and hostile crowd putting pressure on the officials and Salford players to play the 18th man

As you have named some members of our pack, for being below par, you have missed the worst offender out! Danny Tickle was dreadful ! twice he stuck his arms out in desperation at passing opponents it looked like a token gesture

You cant leave Hopkins, Spencer and Dixon in the Stand when their replacements play like Tickle, he adds nothing to our team in fact, he weakens it!

You think thats the sole reason?
