| It wasn't that bad when we staged the England France international.
I beleive that it had a lot to do with Atherleigh Way being busy - Good Friday being a big shopping day and the game finishing in the middle of the afternoon contributed to the LSV trying to empty on to a busy road, thus the delays. Wouldn't be like that in an evening or on a Sunday afternoon.

| Seemed to take a lot longer than usual to clear, but far from the end of the world. The fact that Atherleigh Way was much busier than normal will have no doubt affected it.

| Another LSV special. My wife and daughter went for their ticket,
"adult + student for the North Stand please"
"Are you sitting down?" hmmmmm
Then proceeded to add up the total on her fingers after having forgotten the price she originally told them, having her mic turned on by Andy and saying she had forgotten her glasses.
Come on LSV..is this the best you can do?

| Nothing to do with traffic on Atherleigh Way imo.
It was simply a case of NO stewards on traffic duty after the game.
Just not good enough!

The traffic was backed up from Kamikaze right the way down towards Pennington, which meant there was very little space for anyone to come off the car park and join the bypass, so surely it was a big factor?!

| Exactly Matt, mOre a case of the bypass needing to be a bypass rather than a single carriageway. Hardly the lsv fault.

| When the bypass is busy midweek without 2000 Rugby fans trying to get our it can be hard to get off the LSV complex. Nothing to do with the stadium staff.

| didnt have a problem getting off the lsv (the stewards were directing the traffic) did have a problem getting on to the by pass going towards atherton due to the amount of traffic that the stewards had no control over because it is a public highway

| Fifteen to twenty minutes to get off there isn't so bad. You should have tuned into GMR and listened to the Rochdale vs Oldham game like we did, it sounded great with plenty biff. I had more of a wait trying to get back to Bramhall down the bypass after dropping our Oliver off.

| Genuine question:
Who has 'control' over the bollards that block entry/exit (except buses) from the back of the car-parks? If these could be opened up for twenty minutes or so after the game finishes, it would make a hell of a difference to how quickly the car-parks empty.
Was a 'mare today - but obviously the bottle-neck was getting onto the by-pass...summat the Sports Village has no control over!!

| Agreed. A good mate of mine offered me a lift back to the Goose. I said thanks but it will be quicker to walk. As luck would have it I just got there after a mate had got the round in.

| I've been to grounds where they charge you for the privilege and it can take near enough 20 minutes to get to the car, before even trying to get away.

If wasn't that we had 2 toddlers would've walked

The bollards are down on non matchdays if memory serves me right, but I completely understand why they're raised when a game is on as I'd expect it was part of the planning aspect with the residential areas that the stadium wouldn't mean neighbouring streets are rammed on a matchday etc.

No Matt, they're up all the time.
Makes you laugh really - we give folk the option to use a free car park (how many of them are there?) and the're still not happy. If anyone wants a quick get away leave a minute before the final whistle. There's plenty street parking available around Schofield / Marshall St etc - just a minute from the car park.

| If any of you want cheering up about the car parking/stewarding/leaving times at the LSV, pop down to the Salford City Stadium on Monday. You can bring the whole family (2 adults, 2 kids) for £10 and enjoy our game against Hull KR.
Don't make any plans for too early on Tuesday morning though as you may still be on our car park?!?!

Agreed. When you played Leeds I drove over Barton Bridge on my way home from work over an hour after the match had finished and the car parks were solid.

Easy option, as long as you don't have 3 kids and a wife who's on crutches in the car with you?!

Give us a wave next time! You could've driven back an hour later and still seen people trying to escape!?!

| I have to say that the plans that Pev posted on your forum look fantastic. When the rail link and the road under the motorway are done your place will be the one to go to. I sat in the east stand for the Leeds game and had a fantastic vue and it was mixed supporters. Apart from the result we had a great night.

agreed, it was still bad when i left, stewards where directing traffic but if theres no where for them to send them they cannot be to blame.

The bollards re there to provide emergency access only, and I believe the LSV bus can use that entrance too. But you're correct - planning restrictions prevent that exit being used by the general public, as Wigan Council did not want the residential estate being clogged up with matchday traffic. To be fair they're spot on with that assesment.

| dont forget plank lane bridge is still shut yet so all the traffic is coming down the bypass to go to the retail park and asda etc.in the next week or two i believe theres going to be more road works on the bypass between the stadium going up to lowton so hope the bridge is open before they start this lot but you wouldnt count on it.

| Quote ="71leyther".... if the LSV Co can't sort out the traffic management!
Along with plenty others, just spent =#FF0000THIRTY MINUTES trying to get off that car park. Just where were the stewards?
If there are serious problems with a crowd of just over 2,000 what would it be like with a [size=150=#FF0000BIG[/size crowd?
Can't see any potentially new speccies rushing back if they were stuck in that mess.
An absolute joke !!! Get it sorted, LSV Co !'"
When I walked across the North Car Parks they looked full, so no matter if there's 2000 or 12000 on, when it's full its full so in theory it can't get worse.
ps I parked in Etherstone Street and was home in time to see the end of the Hull derby.
