do leigh still have a stall in the market? maybe they should try selling tickets there?? even organise schools to go in the south stand .

"............Sun 9th May "big game" against Featherstone off due to the Bulls cup match............Thurs 13th May home v Widnes Vikings (the day and TV knocking the "paying gate" down severely)........Sun 30th May v Halifax, but if as expected Fax beat Batley in the next round of the CC that will be postponed as well (even if we lose at Bradford !)...........June just 1 home league game on the fixture list........July sweet FA !!

one thing the club needs to do & it doesn't take a brain surgeon is posters in Leigh town centre to help promote the the club why this doesn't happen I'll never know

I've heard they're trying for that date Frank but not confirmed as yet......... but that's a Weds evening so the gate will be hit , and not just the visitors support, same will apply with what would have been a healthy number from Halifax when they have no option but to play that midweek as well.

this is a tough nut to crack and a few posters won't do it....a great big shiny new stadium with a great big TV advertising future events might do the trick!

Even the official website cant give the relevant info about the next match! no wonder we dont get more fans NO ONE knows when our next match is and where its being played!

Midweek games, in this day and age, are difficult for fans to attend due to the chaos on the roads. I'm not going to Dewsbury on Thursday although, had the game been on a Sunday I would have certainly gone! I am making an effort to go to Bradford and, I did see the Rail Cup Match earlier in the season at Dewsbury( in Yorkshire that day). I do enjoy night matches however, not in Yorkshire, or Toulouse!!

Posters are delivered but shops and businesses cant be forced to display them AND The way tickets are distributed [size=150BY THE LSV[/size they cant be bought elsewhere.

I heard that a couple of weeks ago, but nothing official has been mentioned - either by us, or Featherstone. Wouldn't mind knowing soon, then we can start to activate the programme contributors.

2. £2 off if ticket is bought 48 hours in advance

3. £25 family ticket 2+2

4. Combined marketing. I get plenty about Boogie Nights from LSV, none about filling their stadium.

5. Keep Sunday free - Saturday evenings in summer with BBQ, beer tents, and family entertainment.

6. Flyers on every car in Asda, Sainsburys, town centre etc.

7. A trailer unit at major road junctions along the Lancs/Bypass with the next fixture on.

8. Free tickets to all schools - the one with the most attending wins £500 of O'neills sports equipment.

9. BRING A MATE!!

10. Lay on 5 free coaches for away fans. Net gate and pie receipts > net cost = better atmosphere. Even if there are 250 it's 10 times more away fans than we normally get.

11. Facebook/Bebo/Twitter pages for next games. Invites have a pyramid affect with these things and are read by more folk than get the bloody Journal.

12. Make the Legends Bar Legendary rather than looking like a spare room in a sports centre. Get some pictures up, provide a pan of lobby, get some facepainter type folk in for the kids, hold the Lisa meeting at 1.30, have it as one of Brian Bowmans regular Past Players get togethers, show the highlights of last weeks game, and get all non playing squad members in there.

13. I can get a plateful of fish chips and peas, and a pint of ice cold Stella in the Park Inn and sit comfortably watching the Sky Sports until 2.55pm for £7.50. Why on earth would I pay £5 for a pie and a pint of pi55 in a plastic glass?

14. The tralier we bought - set it up on matchday with merchandise and Lisa mambership opportunities.

None of the above costs much money.

It's better than freebies and requires a dedicate team of people and about £3000 per game. You only need 300 more paying people in the ground, 250 of which will come on free coaches, and its broke even. If there is no uptake on the coaches then the cost will be proportionally lower so the risk is minimal.

If we have to rebrand Lisa on the back of it and use some of those funds to kick start it then maybe it needs thinking about.

We have the most fickle fans in the country but shrugging our shoulders and pointing at everyone else wont solve it. We all need to get our s in gear.

The problem is now that everyone knows we will never get to SL. Even if we were good enough, the RL would never allow us in as long as there was still a team in France, Wales, Ireland or wherever that isn't in SL. I say this not as a protest against expansion, but as fact. And without the SL dream we will never get fans back again. How many did we take to Widnes when we beat Whitehaven to get promotion? 7000?? We'll never get that again unless we somehow have a real chance of promotion. As long as we have a franchise system, we will never get in SL, and everyone knows it.

I'd agree and have plenty mates who think the same. To be honest though, not going to watch a good Leigh team becuase we won't get a frachise is just another one of a long list of excuses.

I'd sooner watch a good team in the Champrionship than a battered team in Super League.

Somewhere in between is a solution.

The biggest ones for me are getting folk who already go to fetch a mate (theres 2000 of us who could make an effort to bring someone along) and filling the place with kids and families who ordinarly would be doing something else instead.

a bill board on the bypass for out next game is a great idea! the flyers on a car could be a bad one though, its so annoying when you go back to your car and somebodys put leaflets under your wipers!

the club should go all out and promote the next two home games! buy a fev ticket, get the widnes ticket at a reduction price.

even something like kids under 12 get free enterance

Get one of those temporary stalls in the precinct. Buy some Leigh merchandise - cups, pens, car stickers, flags, slippers, cushions, caps.....latest ticketing offers etc and all the information for the upcoming games.....simples.

give away freebies on what is potentially the biggest gate of the season? thats not marketing thats financial suicide.

Not disagreeing with you Fred, but playing Devils advocate - do you go for a quick death or slow asphyxiation?

I have seen cups in the ticket office when i have been picking tickets up, pens as well i think, don't know about the other stuff though.

Seriously, the club need to start playing on Friday or Saturday evenings. People have so many other options on a Sunday. I don't understand why we haven't tried this, or why the club haven't even asked the question if it's what the fans want. Unless we try it we'll never know if it works.

I'll say it again.....get a family ticket priced up......one that familys can afford,nearly 50 quid to watch a sport with no promotion when a family can go to the pictures for 20 quid...you do the maths????

And that is pure and simply the reason we get so few walk up crowd

Get a club shop sorted, saw two Eagles fans looking for our club shop on Sunday, so there was two sales of whatever lost

Last time they did ask the question, Sunday afternoon was the overwhelming winner.
