Outstanding today, took one of the first 3 drives in every set, hit the line hard and tackled aggressively.
I think he did from the 5th to 75th minute without being spelled.
Awesome

A agree he had a very good game today.

| I have also been very critical - today a powerhouse workhorse
Amazing what competition for places can throw up.
Oh and by the way, who keeps saying Taylor cannot run lines or even run at all and that he is just a tackler? Whoever you are, I hope you were at the game today.

| Armi always gives 100% when I've seen him play. Sometimes he tries too much and makes mistakes which some on here seem to pounce on. He has great foot work for a big man and leads the pack both on the field and in the dressing room. If you speak to Millward he is one of the first names on the team sheet every week.

| Although I've criticised him quite a bit in the past, Armitstead has excelled these past two weeks. That said, he isn't doing a lot of things particularly different than he always has, but now we have some enthusiastic, alert forwards who are always looking to get on the end of the offloads.

So what you are saying is, the other forwards made him look bad in the past?

To a certain extent, yes, although I do think that Armitstead has become better at knowing when to offload and when to stick hold, almost in the same way that Leafa did.

| I have seen all his games.
I have been saying to mates since I first saw him play for us Barrow had sold us a pup.
Today he looked professional and if any Leigh player whom I criticise has a good or bad game I will say so.
Today he was enthusiastic' never a daft offload' played out of his skin and if he keeps that up I like everyone else will be delighted.
A good game today and I am chuffed for him.
Coaching ? Well done.

| Dave put a lot of effort into his game today and was very good i think as the season progresses
he will become stronger and have many more games like today ..WELL DONE DAVE !!!
One little thing tho when he runs the ball in he seems to step one way or the other losing
momentum im sure if Dave drives the ball straight in he would create more of a problem for the defence with his size ect

I think this is the way they are trained these days - the concept is to change direction at the last moment and hit the defender at a different angle than expected therefore weakening the force of the challenge and increasing the likelihood of breaking through or keeping free for the offload.
But then again, I'm no coach.........

Your wrong Fred watch all the best props in Aussie n SL and you will find that they drive the ball straight in hard & straight to tire the defensive line and to break the advantage line
if you step of one foot or the other running in you lose power its basic science Fred
and your easier to tackle when you move sideways , im sure if you ask any pro RL
player if they would rather tackle a forward straight on or at a angle im sure 100%
would say the latter..
Momentum=The impetus of a moving object
The quantity of motion of a moving body body equal to the product of its mass and its Velocity..
In other words if a big bugger comes at you full pelt head on you have more of a chance of getting splattered than if the big bugger steps to one side resulting in loss of momentum
Watch Palasena the pie prop dont see him step he just runs straight n hard

| FOOTWORK is a recognised way to hit the line, nowhere did I say I agreed with it, and its a method used by some coaches, one of the most successfull coaches at Leigh in the last ten years used to want it (Paul Terzis), his explanation was that it confused defenders, dont confuse what you think and what some coaches want.
I do watch Palasena and he also uses FOOTWORK at times and at others he doesn't, just like any other prop be he Australian, New Zealand or whatever.
Again you are confusing what you THINK I agree with to what I wrote, I have no thoughts either way sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't just like barrelling in works some times and doesn't others. The player in question sometimes uses FOOTWORK and some times doesn't, and as his usual position isnt at prop, unlike some I will give him the benefit of the doubt until he is established in that position.
