| *****Shamelessly nicked from the RFL press release*****
On Saturday 8 August Wigan Warriors will play Warrington Wolves at the Stobart Stadium, Widnes. Kick off is at 2.30pm and will be shown Live on BBC One.
In the second semi-final St Helens will face Huddersfield Giants at The Halliwell Jones stadium Warrington, in a game that is a repeat of the 2006 final. The game will be live on BBC Two, kicking off at 4.00pm.
Strangely it doesn't mention whether this is on the same day or on different ones....

| LSV ruled out by the fact that the Smoggie Dome holds a whopping 600 more people, unfortunately. Still, only took the RFL three days to confirm my predictions

| with a capacity of 13,350 at Widnes, wouldn't have thought it's big enough really. Knowsley Road is ugly I know, but holds 17.500. Or even a footie ground, you would think the game would attract 20,000.

The RFL are aware what a poor imagine a crumbling Knowsley Road would give on telly, while no football grounds are available with it being the start of the Football League that weekend, and the Premier League the following week (while Bolton are at home to Hibs on the 8th in a friendly).

| Personally I think our gaff or your gaff would have fitted the bill.
When the same 2 teams played here a few years back in the semi they were all whinging about how small/inadequate it would be.
Lo and behold it wasn't a sell out - something like 600 tickets left.
I'd sooner have a full ground like yours or ours than a half full footy ground any day.

Agree to an extent, though I think with a little more ambition (and a bit of bribery to the hosting club), the likes of Deepdale would make terrific semi final venues.

That'd the bigger part!
The stadia was obvious tbh, two biggest grounds and best distance between the two!
Sorry if the mighty LSV was offended ! Football grounds are a no goer tbh, teams prob wouldn't allow or it be too expensive etc.

| With a place at Wembley at stake and all the media attention, I think the RFL should fully embrace the expansion theme by playing one game in Brighton and the other in Aberdeen.

Why stop there? Guernsey and the Outer Hebrides have got decent Sky viewing figures, I hear.

The Isle of Skye in the Inner Hebrides would be a far greater pull with easier accessibility via the A87 and skys viewing figures are quadruple those of the outer hebrides. Allegedly they peaked at a record number during the 2nd half of Leighs recent visit to Featherstone when news of a comeback spread around the island. It was mentioned that the figures reached around 20 compared to the 5 reported on the Isle of Lewis

| The glory hunters atrat to come out of the woodwork for later rounds though but it maybe they take the headcount 10 mins before the end of the game when they usually announce it and half the Wi*@n fans have left by then

There seem to be complaints every year that the semi final venues are too small, yet they never seem to sell out.
