| Basically, we need to win all of these matches to guarantee a top 4 finish, which seems optimistic to say the least!
We have the potential to do it, but will the pressure get to them and will they buckle? I think there was a quote stating that no team has reached the top 4 with 6 loses, therefore no slip ups can happen.
The additional pressure is, if we don't make the top 4, half of the current team will have to go as we will not be able to fund our player salaries. Not a task for the faint hearted!

We are capable of doing it,but with that kind of officiating today owt can happen.

Think the quote may be a little out - iirc 7 losses may well see us in top 4. But you are quite right in that we can afford little or no slip ups, and a performance like today would likely see us lose the majority of the above 5 - let's hope we've got it out of our system.

Col,that ref today completely killed the game. His inconsistency, and constant stopping of the game was alarming(26 penalties in total),but you're right,,we can be better, but to say we could likely lose a majority of our remaining games is just being negative.

No guarantee then, even were we to win ALL our remaining games thereafter. Although were we to do so, we'd be there or thereabouts.
Go Leythe (preferably earlier than today).

| I would certainly hope that none of the five teams mentioned, would adopt Barrow's tactics to slow the games with us to a virtual standstill! I really felt for them today. I can't ever remember a team getting all 17 players injured, at least twice over! That, plus the interference/lying behind the ptb's, plus constant appealing and complaining to the referee, (when they said Dallimore was an organiser, I hadn't appreciated just how many people he would be attempting to organise! ) totally frustrated everyone. I know we should rise above it, but it can't be easy in those circumstances. Ironically, the tactics eventually backfired, as our last 24 points were scored when all the players would have normally been showered, fed and on their way home!!

Quite true Al,I forgot to mention the tactics by Barra, but with that on top of 26 pens was enough to make you slit your wrist.

I didn't say we could lose a majority of our remaining games
What was our completion rate, not high I would imagine, many a time we lost the ball very early in the count, and the better teams would make us pay for that

| I obviously didn't see the game but it certainly sounded very stop start. One thing that did please me was that we didn't fold when Barrow got it back to 4 points difference. We stayed positive and obviously believed we would get more tries as we turned down 2 points a couple of time. Sign of a confident team, and they turned it into a good points differential win. We now have a tough spell but the team seems ready to take it on. I still think we can maybe squeek in with 2 losses again the right teams (Fev and Toronto) but that will mean others losing also (besides losing to us). Bottom line, we need to go unbeaten for the next 6 games to make the 8s attainable on our own terms. I Beleighve we have the team to do it.

| The ref was awful today but having said that we didn’t see a performance that suggests we will make the top four.
Hutchinson was immense but there were a few negatives, Hanson missed a few opportunities to give potential scoring passes, Reynolds was all over the place, Mata’utia was very hesitant returning the ball and once again the intensity dropped when Hood was subbed off. He was giving quick ball but Higham was mainly scooting into a tackle.
Disappointing.

Derek I agree the Ref was poor today, but so we're we for 70 minites of the game,we didn't have a move in us, I was convinced Jukesy had returned,it was only our superior fitness that won the game,Barrow played with 15 men having lost 2 subs early in the game,Ryan Duffy looked like he'd come from a pub team, and if Jono Smith was a foot taller he'd be a good player.
However our ba ks must see more of the ball, I've praised Hutchy all season and his promise is starting to show, but we must improve vastly in the coming weeks to get into the top 4,it can be done , but did Derek make the mistake of keeping Jukesy longer than he should?
Barrows spoiling tactics nearly worked today,London, Fev, Toulouse, and Toronto won't need to use these tactics so we must take the game to them.Charlie knows.

Ian, i might be wrong, but with that many stoppages we we just couldn't get going at all,and the frustration set in. In the end once the pea had disappeared from his whistle, we showed what we can do.

| We lost focus when Barrow started using their stalling tactics. We have little option but to rise above this and focus on our own gameplan. However, when you fail to hold the ball and complete your sets this is difficult. The score flattered us today, and there is little doubt that London and Fev will make us pay when we play them if we repeat those mistakes in the weeks to come.
Credit to the boys for putting in their efforts today but please stop switching off and making life hard.

It's championship RL.There was always going be a gameplan from Barrow to get in Leigh's faces at some point and with a weak ref you need to adapt.
Theres no excuse for being offside, and the penalty count was ridiculous. They may have gelled as a team, but the inexperience to adapt to the oppositions gameplan is a worry.

My heart is always in my mouth when Hansen is running onto a crash ball. Today looked like he would be better moved back to 13, given we have Lovett, Larroyer and Gregson able to come into the second row. Looked odd to see Hansen wide and Larroyer, who found himself playing centre last week, playing down the middle.

| Having suffered watching James Child's handling the Cats game against Hull on Saturday night, I was looking forward to watching our game with Barrow and hoping for a better Refereeing performance, Oh dear Marcus Griffiths! he was our 'Referee' yesterday! How many people thought he had a remarkable resemblance to Childs? have the RFL got a mould now? Having watched Childs and Griffiths, I can now sympathise with Tinnitus sufferers I think i'm hearing whistle's in my sleep!! The players are reviewed by a Panel and are subsequently punished thereafter! what will Griffiths receive ?
I don't know who the Barrow player without a number on his shirt was but, not once was he onside the entire match! he stood in the Right Centre position and closed off any chance we might have had of attacking that side!
Ive never seen such a blatant and prolonged offside go unpunished as long during a match before

I thought it WAS Childs to start with.
Yesterday's ref din't seem to mind players lying behind the ptb at all. Now that really does slow down play! Players (from both teams) were offside at the ptb, although technically they were behind the ref, who kept moving forwards with them, before the ball was played!
We have to find a way around the spoiling tactics, although it would help a lot if the ref clamps down on those tactics that are illegal.

| When you think about it the fixtures from now till 8 July are perfect preparation for end of season playoffs with 2 nice easy home games to finish off with. Let’s face it if we lose more than 2 of these of these games, how would have we been able to compete in the playoffs?

Competing in the play offs and promotion are the least of our worries. We need to finish in the top 4 to avoid financial meltdown. This next 8 weeks is effectively our play off series because of the headstart that we have given the top 5 or 6 now.
