joke of a club but i feel deeply for there fans,they should not be allowed to be treated like this.

Obviously feel for the Salford fans given their club's situation but I'm far more concerned about the potential impact on our own cashflow preparations for the season.

The reasoning given on the Salford website ("We felt it was better to give the boys an extended break over Christmas and prepare ourselves fully for the Swinton game on 6 January"icon_wink.gif reads as a bit of a p1sstake for me though.

From a quick scout around I think St.Helens, Bradford, Castleford, Hull & Hull kr could be potential replacements for Salford, we really need to replace this fixture for our own cash flow & preparation.

I'm sure Folly would be a lot more honest about their reasons as well!

How about a game against Leigh east? They could do with some cash even more than us and I'm pretty sure we'd get an even bigger crowd than playing Salford?

Salford have only just confirmed match on according to Journal and Reporter so something must have happened for it to be called off in same week , can't see it being anything to do with the extra time off. Hope we get a replacement .

I will state here and now that I will not be attending any re arranged game with Salford on the 13th. This is turning in to a complete farce and mugs have handles on them.

Salford are in crisis. Their players are currently not receiving their wages.

I am sure like me you hope they will survive.

Maybe Peel Holdings will rescue them.

The rent they were charging Salford was extortionate and Sale RUFC will be relegated and no residence by Man City reserves will save them ie Pool not taking a big hit on their outlay for their building of the Barton Stadium.

They will imo shell out £700k to save Salford or they will take a £20 million hit.

In View of the fact that your game against Salford is cancelled can I tempt you to attend the Ian Watson testimonial game on the Saturday if nothing more than to support an ex-player and great servant to the game, plus to get a Rugby League Fix. The match is on the 29th it'll cost you a tenner for adults and two quid for kids.

Have a good Christmas and if theReds go under I hope Leigh are considered as suitable replacements. Whatever happens good luck this coming season.
