So what's the preference of opposition?

Well it wasn't a classic, but it was certainly edge of the seat stuff. I thought our patience was excellent. When we upped the tempo in the second half, they couldnt live with us. I think we have the measure of fax, rowley certainly knows how to beat Harrison coached teams.

Well I'm wet and cold, and our equipment is probably damaged because the wind and rain was blowing right in our direction, but I'm absolutely over the moon and I nearly ended up in Trevor's box when Ridy dropped that goal.

Thought Bentham and his FOUR assistants were poor for both teams making it frustrating to watch at times.

Golden point is a cruel way to lose but an exciting way to win. Although I think that whilst the last gasp goal kept fax in the game they were out on their feet and winning the toss worked against them.

Agree on fax halfbacks though, other than Penky there's nothing there really.

How did Laithwaite go?

He's a great lad with a big heart and brain. Will be in the Wire first team next season.

I though Gallagher's short stint changed the game. We knew we had a big enough and fit enough pack that we could just let him rip and give it everything for 20 minutes then take him off again. Think we were 6 - 16 down when he came on and 18 - 16 up when he went off.

Brilliant performances from all the players but to single out a few I thought Ridyard, Laithwaite, Maden, and McNally were superb.

Also well done to Paul Rowley. 2 matches in a row we've had a clear and effective plan that has done the job against a very strong Fax side.

Hope Duffy s ok , did he go hospital as he wasn't on the pitch at the end, looked like his arm/wrist, anyone know anything?

Glad it's not just me who thought that! He made a break that coincided with Brierley's introduction and it all lifted from there.

A cruel way to lose a game but an absolute classic encounter, another game that shows the quality of the Championship.

Extra time was OK, we kicked off to Fax, and they never got out of their own half after that.
BUT the last few minutes WAS scary, twice we lost the ball a 'few' metres from our own line, which after the second occasion, on the last tackle, after a kick they got the equalizing penalty. I thought they were gonna score a try, but they didn't so Wemb-Leigh here we come !

The only thing we were missing today was the Great Escape song at the end.

I believe all four games are on TV in the quarter-finals, so attendances could be a disaster. At least we should get some TV money!
