I'm not sure some people realise how serious the club's situation is/has been. I'm confident there will be a reasonable team to support next season and that the club will be stronger in the long-term for all the off-field developments taking place. If it leads to a more business-like way of running the club then the recent upheavals will have been worth it.

Lets all step back in time a couple of decades , We had no internet and between the seasons end and the re start , the only info given out by any club was via the local papers and possibly local radio

Lets all calm down , we will have a club to support , we will have a team to support , all take a break from getting increasingly agitated about no news coming out , It will arrive just like a No 32 bus , with loads more straight behind it

Very sensible original post from Brian Wood. The club was always going to be for a very difficult time once the support from Arthur Thomas was no longer. A big 'well done' is due to all who have worked to keep the club going. We may be losing a few players at the moment but once a new coach is appointed then next seasons squad will begin to take shape.

I can’t believe anyone is shocked at the fact us the fans are kept in the dark, players are leaving and we have no coach, we require professional people all the way through the club who have been there and done it. Round pegs for round holes and all that.

Players and coach are leaving - they always have done, they always will do, so this time is probably no different. Funnily enough we now have a great many professional people involved in helping the staff to run the club. As for the past, not even Arthur's generosity would have funded the number of 'professional' staff that were really needed.

Depends how you define 'the top'.

If it's the chairman you are referring to, the simple, brutal truth is, that without Keith Freer's considerable input, during this crisis, we wouldn't be having this dialogue now - the club would be dead.

If it's the CEO you are getting at, he has been instrumental in getting a team together, off the pitch (and on it, too) to ensure this club has the chance of a future.

Both unpaid I might add too.

No it most certainly isn't , the real work hasn't even started yet , but it would seem your not as expert as you thought you were

Just to clear this up cos i'm not bothered one way or the other but a former director told me freer charges for his services, if thats the case then he's not unpayed.

No he doesn't , what he did do was take a shareholding and a directorship in lieu of his services , however after 9 years I'd suggest we've had our monies worth out of him



Most clubs have a solicitor on the Board , I'd guess most are personally unpaid , but might actually charge for some aspects of work done through their ' practice ' as their partners might be a tad upset if their staff were doing stuff unpaid for a sports club they perhaps couldn't care less about

Yes I knew she was helping out Keith , I do know Karen , she dealt with our house move last year , just didn't know she was an expert on RL disciplinary matters

Solicitors don't usually submit their bill until they have completed their work. I hope you have it in writing that they won't charge you, or three years work = tens of thousands in a bill that lands on the door mat!
