what, the Saints fans who sing en masse "The referee's a w @ n k e r" every time they are on telly? Surely they can't be so easily offended!!!

Not surprised , not mature enough to handle the situation , once he'd agreed to move , saints should have insisted he left straight away , cannot be good for team spirit and morale having him in the squad

They can't get rid without a reason though, not without paying up his contract. He's already turned his back on the club/sport which has made him into the player he is without giving them any real return. Would take the micky to have to pay him a lump sum aswell before he jollies off to yawnion for the money. They will hopefully be able to use his misconduct to sack him for 'unprofessional behaviour' or somesuch and be able to get rid without lining his pockets even more.

TV Boy and I went to watch their match at Salford and thought he had a good game.Despite that' all he got was abuse from the Saints fans stood next to us.

Well people pay their money and have a right to their opinion. If he wants to play union then fine but go now and not down the line. Saints team is in bad enough shape without having someone playing for them who'd head is obviously elsewhere.

He's a class player, would have thought he'd cop flak off opposing teams fans but to cop it from your own 'fans' does seem daft.

I can understand their gripe but it won't help the team any I guess.

better off for the saints, at least now they can plan ahead and not have a player who is just waiting to go to union bringing the team down, He hasn't been at his best all season so lets hope Gaskell can fill his boots and push saints up the table

It would have saved a lot of grief if bath had taken over his contract. then he could have just walked away when the deal was done.

Difference is I criticise performances on here or mention it at the ground. I do not shout out loud abuse at our players at games (although folk stood near might overhear).

Never understood this stupid transfer system. How the hell can a player sign for another team but continue to play for his current team? You see it every year, hodgson signed for Warrington but continued to play for Huddersfield being one example. I know they have to fulfil their contracts but to allow them to sign for another club mid season without moving is crazy. Could you imagine Wayne Rooney signing for Man City but still playing for United till next season?

In Kyles case I'd have put him straight into the reserve squad , he wouldn't have played for me again , just having him in the changing rooms would be disruptive to the squad

He's signed a contract with another club, albeit a union club which starts at a later date. Shame that he hasn't been loyal to one club, but how often does happen these days? Saints fans should understand that he's furthering his career and providing for himself and his future family presumeably, as they all would. It's not like he's going to Wig*n, is it?

For his part if some idiots shout abuse he should rise above it and be a big boy.

The fans should support their team whoever plays in it. I'd shout for Colonel Gaddafi if he played in a Leigh shirt. Or is that just me?

In fairness, there's no reason why that couldn't happen as pre-contract agreements are pretty common.

Did Brett Hodgson get all this when it was announced he was going to Wire, he even played against them just before he moved over to them
