Not true, 31 of them did. Seriously though it was a crazy last throw of the dice by Ted Richardson which would have been doomed to failure at most RL clubs

at last a modicom of sense on this topic - if the fans/local populus can't be bothered to follow their team then maybe it's time to call it a day ?
The RFL is flogging a dead horse if it's intending pumping money into clubs with little or no fan base.Where have all the fans gone ? what's changed over the past 20 years or so ?
If some local patron wants to come along and keep it going just for the sake of it then so be it but if the fan-base isn't there,what's the point ?

As Fred said how are crusaders and Harlequins different?? They have very few fans, so please help me out here with an informal reply

The theme is that the Crusaders fan base does not come into any decision concerning them. The Crusaders are worth a few million on the SKY deal. SKY have us over a barrell, drop Quins and Cru and it will be a case of your money will drop drastically or we will pull out all together.

"The blame lies with the people of these towns who won't support them", that includes so called super league clubs, but I've given you the reason why it doesn't include the aforementioned SL clubs at least. Also don't know if you picked it up anywhere, Cru don't even have to apply for 2012-2015, as the RFL have an agreement with them that £175000 will be deducted from their SKY monies each year for the next 4 years. They have therefore ensured that they get their money back from the Cru debacle, yet tens of small businesses will get jack.

the reason Quins,Cru,Catalans & TO are different is because the RFL deem them to be for whatever reason ! THEY make the rules don't they, so ask THEM !

FINALLY we get to the heart of the matter. So you are actually agreeing with what we have been saying all along.

I wont quote you all the other replies but what theme do you detect?

forget my last you have answered the 'question' there are different 'rules' being applied, all's we ask for is honesty and fair play or at least the ghost of them.

there's not much to defend is there - the RFL decides what it wants whether we like it or not - we can only give our opinions as we see them tho' this will never change the fact that the RFL is king and makes & adapts the rules when it sees fit.Different rules apply to different situations it seems.Actual facts ie declining crowds and more clubs in dire financial states seem to matter to the RFL in some cases and not in others.
I neither agree or disagree with any of you at Leigh or anywhere else - I don't claim to know that much about RL but I give my opinions as I see fit at the same time not trying to offend anyone whether you are across the pond or the channel.
