Thinking of driving to Carcassonne if flight is cancelled any one up for road trip? if we leave at 6am should get to carcassonne for 8pm

I am provided we stop for lunch and I am able to have fois gras with chips and a glass of red wine.Oh and a big glass.

I'll hitch a lift if room

well if 2 people come with me and wife it will be about £75 per person for ferry and fuel i will see what time ferrys are

Right i have checked ferries here are the details

leave dover 4.40am friday arrive 7.10am
leave calias 5.40pm Sunday arrive 6.10pm

ferry cost £85 for 4 people

Fuel roughly £200

So total per person £71.25 plus very long drive

for me!!!

If any one up for it let me know and i will try and convince the wife



Oh and we would nead to leave at latest 10.30pm tonight

according to autoroute its an 18 hr trip to toulouse never mind further south, gud luck

Leigh to Dover 4hrs 45mins

Ferry 1hr 30mins

Calais to Carcassonne 9hrs 30 mins

Total time leigh to carcassonne 15h 45mins

Should get to carrcassonne by 4.30pm friday

Going to cost the RFL a fortune in that case if the team are travelling by Eurostar. Would just make sense to call it off (don't necessarily want that as I know at least one fan who is in France already!)

Assuming the Touoluse plane wont happen, I'm looking at trains, pogo sticks, milk floats, space hoppers the lot, even checked out the ferry to Santander then train via Barcelona. Trouble is it does not leave Portsmouth until Sunday. Dont fancy driving because the weekend was all about a good drink.

It looks like half of Westleigh are doing the same because the Rail Europe site has gone down.

'Best' options so far are £275 to Avignon with Eurostar, arrive Friday night. Best being a word I am using very loosley. Common sense has gone out of the window, its now turned into a mission which is what Visa cards were invented for.
