I actually saw him passing my house with a letter & thought it must have been an invite or summat.

Very funny, and another one to add to the Shandy Bass collection. Man's a Leigh Legend and should be given an " hands on roll " at the club. How about Director of Rugby?

General theory is that he 'supports' Micky Higham, despite the age of the Leigh shirt in the picture.

He was sat in front of me at the televised Fetherstone game when we got battered,mined you he was in the free stand.

he had a ride on his funky moped over bank holiday weekend trying to find where i live

apparently got into westhougton, and was riding round an area with a lot of big houses and posh cars, and thought to himself, "it cant be round here",


so, and i kid you not, he went into a shop in the centre of town, and asked to be directed to the " rough, scally end" of town!!

A guy I met at uni got a letter sent to him addressed 'Mr Happy, Pennsylvania' once. It took 2 years, and the name was ironic, but it got there.

Does he work for a living or did he have a weeks holiday to visit Hilton Park each day for a week?

I'm going to try the address story with some of the lads at work ie Lancs,Cheshire and Derbyshire,then we can call him a true Legend.On GMR Sun morning they were on about fans who have procured bits of kit from their beloved grounds,Maine rd ect,i was in the car so could not ring in!!.Somboby please ring in this Sunday,mention Shandy Bass and he will become known then to the Mancs!!! We might get some support as far away as Blackley.Wythenshawe,Moston, ect!

I worked in leigh for many years, and SHANDY BASS was a name that was mentioned every Monday dinner time spent enjoying a pint in the Globe. Well here is a bit more news on the legend. His letter story was in yesterdays Wigan evening post, but i am afraid to say he was named as a suppouter of LEIGH RUGBY UNION.

I say give him an " hands on roll " at the club. Head coach for example, or weights conditioner? Dietician maybe? Free Maccy D's for everyone.
We wouldn't win many games but at least we'd have a good laugh



Then again we don't win many now, so what have we got to lose?

Spotted shandy last night when coming back from doing the big shop at asda. He was stood on what used to be the asda end of hp with fag in one hand and can in the other.

shandy was in the avenue yesterday with that letter and a cut out of a newspaper

I nipped into McDonalds a few weeks back and he was getting a telling off for the way he'd 'cleared off' some scruffy mouthy chavscum who were poking fun at him.

'You cant talk to customers like that' he was being told.



His approach, whilst unconventional in todays nanny state, certainly worked.
