IIRC Rovers occasionally get 500 up for reserve games. Thats what the ex wife tells me when she's taking the pi** out of our attendences anyway

But would it be cost effective to open the ground for such a small attendance? I'll stick my neck on the line here and suggest Leigh RL reserves get higher attendances than t'Roverrrrs reserrrrves

I suppose Rovers would be paying a fixed fee for say 14 games + and percentage of the gate receipts so the LSV won't lose out.

We have had Everton for years an simply open sourth stand (one with tunnel). Therfore only cost of staff for that, and then for games that get billed big, Reserve semi's against Liverpool for example open up the rest then!

Does it matter they (the LSV) will be getting what they want out of the deal they wont lose out or they wouldnt do it, its nothing to do with the Centurions anyway I for one arent bothered if Barcelona played thier I wouldnt go anyway, so Blackburn or anyone is welcome as long as they are paying out good 'brass'.
The pitches are ALL being dug up and relaid next week anyway so the 40 game rule (it was 40 wasn't it?) starts all over again from then.

My main concern is that it doesn't turn out to be the goldmine that the LSV may be hoping for, and that means they turn to the usual suspects (ie Leigh RL) to make up the loss in expected income.

When I've been watching, Rovers attendance is about 100-200.

How come our reserves can't play there then?

I thought they could only stage so many game per season or something daft and that's one of the reasons we can't train on the pitch?!

Willnot happen as Starbug points out (as did I a couple of years ago) Leigh can't afford to play the reserve team games at the LSV main stadium and Leigh East pitch is tyo be relaid as is the 'Harriers' pitch (and the main one I was told today???).

Matt how can there be any 'shortfall' on income that isn't 'in the pot' as yet?

Leigh Centurions has a licence with fixed pricing structures, for the next few years (as I read it some time ago) if when this period of time is over the hire of the stadium is too much then just like in ordinary life it means they can't afford to be there (again I said all this years ago) and that bridge will have to be crossed then.

Around 1993-1995 Rovers played at Wigan Athletic's, Springfield Park.
200 -300 was the usual turn out even with occasional appearances of Alan Shearer and Colin Hendry. Around 1200 for MU Res, but I would think they will be paying a "set rent" for each game so frankly apart from the snack bar takings it makes no difference if it's 100 or 10,000.

Not saying you're wrong on this Peter, and I know its something Rovers have been looking at, but when I asked Jason last night he knew nothing about it being a done deal. (mind you he's known nothing since the day he was born

I do know they made enquiries before Xmas 2008 so who knows ? Nothing on the BRFC website to confirm or deny..........
