would someone please explain why players are choosing to join other clubs on loan rather than come to leigh it seems tha when ever a decent player goes on loan we never seem to get him

This quite easy to answer - last year a certain person involved with recruitment was enquiring via agents about players then once he got an interested player - then proceeded to go behind the agents back to try and cut out his fees. This was reported on a few occasions and then the agents now have a gents agreement to treat sporting club leigh like they were treated.

Interesting question. My memory plays tricks these days, but does anyone else remember W***n saying that they would loan young players out to Leigh?

He has - but damage like that takes a while to be forgotten - unfortunatley for Leigh

That was the impression that I got from the pre-friendly press releases. However, we were apparently 'offered' Mossop before he went to Barrow, and it appears that Goulding would rather have been loaned out to a Super League club (and who can blame him?)

I was in the room when Ian Leneghan made his speech about always being rivals on the pitch but great friends behind the scenes, and how they were going to be working closely with our board to bring over some of their players - talk is cheap eh?

But if players dont want to come and have a choice there is nowt anyone can do about it.

As I posted earlier in the thread, to my knowledge only 2 players have left Wigan on loan this season. Lee Mossop was originally offered to Leigh, but we turned it down so he went to Barrow instead, while Darrell Goulding justifiably opted to join a Super League club on loan (Salford) instead of dropping down a division.

Both Karl Pryce and Mossop turned Leigh down and instead either stayed or joined other clubs. Leigh enquire and then Wigan ask them do they want to go on loan to Leigh. Ben Davies is another who has rejected a move to Leigh.

That would be the same Karl Pryce who has appeared in Wigan's first team since being "offered" to Leigh, would it?

Dont get your briefs in a twist just because other players dont find Leigh an attractive challenge Matt.

Haggerty will never ever get a sniff of Saints first team again though, Haggerty is also a bang average player who even at this level doesnt stand out. Mossop will be a Wigan player for many more years to come as will Davies.

I didnt comment on his ability only the rumour that players are not allowed / dont want to come to us on loan, keep up troll.

ben davies is meant to be a good un, some of our lads who obviously know his ability have asked us to get him down to leigh, but like has been said players can't be forced to go out on loan.

which is my point when local lads would rather travel to cumbria then join leigh somethin aint right
