That seems very expensive to Widnes it only costs about £6 in fuel in a car and you can take 4 people with you!! and its only £1.50 cheaper than going to wakefield how do they work that out when its about 5 times the distance?????

Not having a go in anyway just seems to be a touch expensive and i know the coach company sets the price not you

Maybe but i thought the idea of a coach was it was cheaper than taking the car yourself


Widnes by coach = £6.50 Per Person
Widnes by car = £1.20 Per Person 5 people in car

Wakefield by Coach = £8 per person
Wakefield by Car = £2.25 per person

Obviously this excludes people without a car and for whom have no option but to travel by coach

It is Good Friday so i suppose the driver may be on double time, thats the price Ive benn quoted by my usual company and Ive rang around since reading this and all the others want £50 more, so should I cnacel this coach now or what, as its no use having one if no one is willing to pay that price. ?

Ignore them DJ. If they want to go by car let them. Think they left out parking/clamping/window replacement fees anyway

If I was you I’d leave it until Friday, you’ve chance to ask all them going on the coaches to Wakey their opinion.

I’d guess a few more will drive with it being only a short journey to Widnes.

Just have a look on other fans sites at how much they charge for trips. You'll find they are £3 -£4 dearer than ours for similar mileage. I rang several coach companies for prices and they wanted £400 min for local games.

Leigh 24.7 as i said im not having a go i never have used the coach service as i travel by car just pointing out it was very expensive for what it was if thats what they charge then thats what they charge but to me its very expensive for what it is.

and it was more aimed at how the coach company could justify only £1.50 cheaper to Widnes than Wakefield when there is nearly 100 miles extra to and from wakefield????

I know who you are and as i said in my post it was aimed at the coach company not you i know you are only charging what they are charging you. The last thing i would say was you or lisa were ripping anyone off because i know thats simply not the case

I wasnt having a go at you hun and i know you are doing a sterling job sorting the coaches out for everyone not many would do it i surpose the prices reflect the times and cost of fuel etc

The coach company will probably only budget on about 30 minutes less to go to Widnes than Wakey, on both trips part of the cost will be the driver just sat there for a couple of hours why the game is in progress.

obviuosly it s a bank holiday too so that may reflect their prices

Usually companies who know they will have to work Bank holidays, like say ASDA, don’t pay their employees more money or charge you extra for your tin of beans, on those days. So I don’t think that will be too much of an issue, but you never know.

Just to compare, it costs me £146 to send a wagon from here to Halewood, and £258 to go to Sheffield, nearest places to both destinations that we go to.

Assuming it’s a 54 seater and the vehicle I send had seats

, that would be £2.70 to Halewood and £4.77, so just a couple of quid difference.

Makes all the differance though £3 to Widnes and £5 to wakefield is a lot better value for money and probably along the lines i would expect the charge to be
