This does not sound good at all, i hope that MR CHAIRMAN as had words with his staff over this matter and i sincerely hope it is not going to effect the relationship between leigh and east. i personally am very disappointed if leigh as been used to up the ante.

I do not think a public forum like the club website is the right place for this sort of statement. Any issues should have been discussed between the relevant people and not turned into a public attack on individuals.
It can do nothing but fan the flames of the incident and I feel it is totally unprofessional to do so.

It was never going to be a smooth road, bridges were always going to have to be built, some of which were bound to fall down.

Leigh are unlikely to ever be in a strong enough position to sign up every youngster.

The import thing is both sides keep working together and learn from it.

what a way to build trust!!!! why not just come out and say from the beginning and the efforts of all concered could be better placed.

Was wondering how long it would take someone to slag off the club.

If no statement had been made, the club would have also been slated for not keeping fans informed.

What has the club to gain by running this story?

Stuff happens in business and throwing a tizzy in public ain't gonna win you friends.
Sometimes you just have to smile, wish them luck and take a note not to be so gullible next time.

Just goes to show damned if you do damned if you dont re releasing information.

Because everyone likes to have a go at our club. It is very easy to critisice and by god, we certainly have a go!

Boot is on the other foot now, Leigh have been very professional and Leigh East have been what they are ... amatuerish!

It is always being said on here that Leigh Centurions have to build bridges....IT IS NOT LEIGH CENTURIONS KNOCKING THE BL00DY THINGS DOWN!

It just goes to show what Leigh East are - yes they have to take some flak over this as an organisation - or fire the coach involved.

Obviously Leigh East are more concerned about getting the most money for their players. (IMO if they are good enough, the money will come eventually)

So have east acted in the best interests of their player? It was on here over last couple of weeks how this signing was 'nailed on' for us. "Come down to east and watch him" ....my ar$e.

All too often you hear of stories and them not being confirmed or denied, well done to the club on keeping everyone informed. Would I have worded it in such a way? Probably not.

Steve Simms and Shaun McCray were at Easts on Staurday, but so were Allan Rowley and Arthur Thomas.

Anyway, this is the problem with messageboards.

Things get written then before you know it, its gospel, even if the club havn't said a word about it. But when it goes wonky, the club is left to take the flak.

Mr Chairman has gone a hiding I see! Quite frankly, posting the stuff that has been posted on this board that has not come to pass is unprofessional and unacceptable.

If Leigh RL has been led merrily down the garden path like we have been on this message board then I fully support the club's stance on this. It is a very poor reflection on Leigh East, or at least senior people from Leigh East who have been posting unsubstantiated tripe on this board.

People might have been able to use A Rowley as an excuse for many things going awry in the past - but now we have Millward influencing things that will not wash with me at least.

Its one thing for the ordinary fan to come on here and spread a bit of harmless rumour or gossip, especially when there are no real vested interests - but there was a real conflict of interest here.

Mr Chairman, unless you intend to come back with a very clear and direct apology (for the actions of your club - as chairman you are responsible and accountable for the actions of the staff of your club), I strongly suggest you find another message board to spout rubbish on. Or better yet, keep your gob shut until the deal is DONE.

The lad wants a cooling off period to think about his future, what has been done by others might be a side issue.

I'm not sure what other individuals have to gain by him signing for Salford instead of Leigh and to be honest I'm not interested.

Personal attacks on this board are cheap and easy to make, though I must admit having a go at Mr Chairman from Toronto is probaly a wise thing to do, just keep your next visit home a secret

I agree. Very poorly worded statement and to be honest a little too much info. Not very professional at all. On another note, good luck to the lad. Hope he doesn't regret his decision.
