I listened yesterday, to representatives of two SL clubs explaining how nobody in SL wants 'loop' fixtures and that play offs were of no interest to anyone - yet here we are with top 5 play offs (of course, that could be simplified by having four teams) and 'loop' fixtures in SL! I reckon they confused the Championship and League 1 clubs so much, that a number of them inadvertently voted the wrong way!

Just a passing thought - the clubs who voted this in, are virtually the same clubs who have voted all the previous structures in. Presumably, those previous structures have been deemed to have failed? What on earth makes them think they have got it right this time?

When this new revolutionary structure, containing the previously much maligned loop fixtures, fails to grab new spectators through the gates and gains no super dooper new TV deal in 2020, then what? I can see it now , 2 years down the line.

Said it on the VT H as soon as the new structure was announced- liscencing within the next 3 years, this is just an initial softener to suck the champ vote in. They must think us fans are as thick as some of the chairmen

It needed something doing. The Super8s produces too many meaningless games and goes on way too long, as does the Middle8s although it does catch interest, and the Shield is a meaningless comp for losers, which is why spectators flock to it in their tens. They had better get someone like Barry Hearn marketing the game however, as I fear for the future of RL otherwise.

Link?? - there is the best part of £2 million going to the bottom 3 of the 8s, which is generally to champ teams, is that now to be spread amongst the rest of the champ or is the SL salary cap going up. Surely the money should go to the champ teams as part of the current Sky deal
