Derek has called into radio Manchester and called all those fans applauding the Toulouse team and calling for Jukes's head, despicable, which is probably aimed at almost all the North Stand, conveniently forgetting the appalling home form this season and the end of last plus a purge of all the Leigh born players.

Think the chants were uncalled for... The applause could be deemed good sportsmanship.

He likes the north stand when the're patting him on the back but he has to realise he has to take the rough with the smooth,dont get me wrong im not saying the booing or clapping the opposition during the game as right but i think that sort of frustration and anger has been coming the way the lads have been performing and I don't buy all this it's a new team and will take time to gel,I can agree with the attack that will need time to gel but tackling is tackling no matter wether it's a new team or not and that's been poor

Personally, I would never boo anyone, our team or the opposition. I feel it is 'unsporting'. But we (in the West Stand

)were also applauding the Toulouse team, for the way they overcame severe adversity, to win the most unlikely victory. And they did it by playing entertaining rugby. I feel that is 'sporting'. (We were also applauding Leigh, when we were playing well, earlier in the game.)

I can't remember who it was,

but who, at the Club, was lavishing praise on Catalans, when they beat us in the MPG, and publicly said he didn't want them to be relegated?

I sure as heck wanted them to be relegated, because it meant we would stay up, and I can't believe he didn't feel the same way, about 'his' club!

The applause was sarcastic,as to inform some,thats how we should be playing. The chants from the younger generation made the decision easier the day after. Not sure what the complaint is here. Jukesy doesn't have one. Why create another.

Despicable, is an amusing term to use I'm a West Stander and didn't chant or boo on Sunday, I am however so glad Jukes has gone, it could save our season.
As for Derek?He has been great for the Club, but he must realise the Fans are the lifeblood of the Club, a few years ago when Abram was Coach, I once told him at a LISA meeting in 10 years time when you have gone, as Coach, I will still be a Leigh fan, I still am,and always will be no matter who Owns, the Club, or Coaches the Club, I will still be a Leigh fan.
All fans have opinions and are entitled to express their feelings,if some folk don't like it, hard lines.

He might have been relieved that he could unload a lot of the financial weight with the contracts becoming void, Not mentioning the £500k parachute payment we received.

'Despicable' is a little bit OTT.......to say the least.

As Derek is bankrolling the club, you could argue he can do and say whatever he wants, when he wants.

In fairness he offered a fan a charity boxing match. Lets keep it right please.

Then again,they may not be fans to start off with. Thats the price you pay for using social media.

Nothing new about booing a team after a poor performance Arsenal have just been booed after another poor performance against Man City can't understand DB making an issue of it unless its part of another agenda we don't yet know about. If you want the cheers when playing well be prepared for the jeers when you don't that's the way fans have always reacted.

The consequences of Sunday have already been dealt with. Very poor from DB. Should be talking positives on going forward or even better don't accept the interview in future without prior rehearsal.

I was listening to Radio Manchester Rugby League Extra myself on the way to work.

By the time I got there I was absolutley bouncing !!!

Lets face reality here:

We were sold a dream, how many times did we hear - The coaching Staff have been monitoring this player that player and is an excellent prospect, up and comming star etc.

The coaching team have been to Austrailia and learned some valuable training tactics, we have spoke to top coaches.

Our pre-season will be tough to help them compete

We want a team that will not only compete in Super League but will stay there.

We were sold it and I bought into it. (would have done anyway even without the hype).

Our season tickets are more expensive than some Super League teams. (want the best, you have to pay for it - no complaints)

But I follow Leigh and bought one. (Like I do every year)

Lets have a look how Mr Beaumont has treated us in return this last week !!!

Sunday:

Changed the kick off time from 3 pm to 5.30 pm so he and his best buddy can go watch Man Utd, How many people did that "put out", sure its only 2.5 hours later - Thats 2.5 hours later the stewards are getting away later, 2.5 hours the emergency services are getting away later, 2.5 hours the fans, grounds men, bar workers and even toulouse are getting away later.

All because he wanted to watch a football match - the worst thing is he went on TWITTER and made up a little song about it using "I,m into something good" song replacing it with something like "Changed the kick off time cause I could" - cool well done

Back to Sunday

Leigh were poor - very poor (we were playing 12 men) and in the lead and we still managed to loose, how? (bearing in mind that we have a team full off NRL / SL players and led to believe we are making a concerted effort to get back to the "promised land". Understandably the fans became a little annoyed.

I dont agree with booing our players (it helps the away team) and I didnt boo, A lot did also the dis-approval of the coach was sang. Everyone has an opinion and living in a democracy, free speach is a right, something our owner doesnt like.

He called us despicable and disgusting and even said he didnt appreciate us clapping Tolouse.

I am sick to death of hearing these words: Money, Owner and Walk away this week.

Yes Derek we know you have money (you tell us enough times), we are all aware you "own" the club (again you never mention it) but now we have to endure the "Marwan book of threats" with "if the minions get out of control, threaten them with walking away" objective - it will shut them up and they will all become little Lemmings and treat you like a Demi God again.

As per normal protocol for Mr Beaumont - Thanx for all you have done and its much appreciated, you are my hero - but dont treat me like an idiot.

Excellent post Zulu ! I like Derek, (only met him a few times) but in my opinion, his behaviour is a little erratic at the moment. Be it interviews/social media (to say the least) FFS. How some fans behaved last Sunday was nothing compared to what happens at football clubs. So for about 20 minutes there is 'muted' Jukes out chanting, then louder "you're getting sacked in the morning" BIG WOW ! I did not applaud Toulouse when they scored, but at the end of the game when they came to the North Stand and clapped the Leigh fans, I clapped back.....they deserved it !! DESPICABLE behaviour....not at all Derek. It wasn't nice for Neil Jukes to hear I agree....but that's all.
